Jakarta (B2B) - Hingga saat ini sekitar 1.425 atlet, 262 pelatih, 211 wasit/juri, dan 267 ofisial dari 91 negara menyatakan keikutsertaannya pada kejuaraan karate internasional “The 9th World Junior, Cadet & Under 21 Karate Championships 2015” pada 12-15 November 2015 di Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), Bumi Serpong Damai, Tangerang Selatan - Banten.
Kepala Bidang Penerangan Umum (Kabidpenum) Puspen TNI, Kolonel Czi Berlin G mengatakan Presiden RI Joko Widodo dijadwalkan akan membuka kejuaraan tersebut pada 12 November di ICE Tangerang Selatan.
Menurutnya, kejuaraan ini diikuti oleh tiga kelompok umur yakni Kadet (15-16 tahun), Junior (17-18 tahun) hingga di bawah 21 tahun (U-21), dan pertandingan terdiri dari 35 kelas.
"Kejuaraan ini diselenggarakan oleh World Karate Federation atau WKF bersama dengan Federasi Olahraga Karate-Do Indonesia yang dipimpin oleh Jenderal TNI Gatot Nurmantyo," kata Berlin melalui pernyataan tertulisnya pada Senin (9/11).
"PB Forki menyiapkan 45 atlet dan 10 pelatih, saat ini seluruh karateka menjalani Pelatnas di Ciloto, Puncak. Forki mengharapkan para atlet sukses meraih prestasi terbaik buat negara dan bangsa, dengan dilatih oleh para pelatih nasional Forki dan Tareq pelatih asal Perancis," kata Kolonel Czi Berlin G.

Indonesian Armed Forces spokesman, Colonel Czi Berlin G said President Joko Widodo was scheduled open the championship on November 12 at ICE South Tangerang.
According to him, the championship was followed by three age groups, cadets (15-16), juniors (17-18), and under 21 years (U-21) in 35 match class.
"The championship was organized by the World Karate Federation or WKF with the Federation of Karate-Do Indonesia led by Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo," Berlin said through a written statement on Monday (11/9).
"Indonesia is supported by 45 athletes and 10 coaches, all athletes currently undergoing training at Ciloto Puncak, West Java, and is expected to successfully achieve the best performance for the nation and the state," he said.
