Jakarta (B2B) - Pemerintah RI memutuskan untuk mengimpor 400.000 ekor sapi dari Meksiko yang bertujuan menjaga ketersediaan daging sapi menjelang akhir tahun yang diperkirakan meningkat, dan sebagai upaya pengendalian harga daging sapi di bawah Rp80.000 per kg seperti diharapkan Presiden RI Joko Widodo.

Menteri Pertanian Andi Amran Sulaiman mengatakan harga sapi impor dari Meksiko dipastikan di bawah harga pasaran saat ini dengan spesifikasi 200.000 ekor sapi bakalan dan sapi indukan 200.000 ekor, namun dia enggan menyebutkan kisaran harga sapi per ekor.

"Kita sudah sepakat dengan Dubes Meksiko untuk segera dikirim ke Indonesia, dan mereka berjanji harganya bersaing di bawah harga sapi impor pada umumnya. Enggak usah saya sebut, insya Allah harganya di bawah pasaran," kata Mentan kepada pers di Jakarta usai bertemu Dubes Meksiko, Federico Salas Lotfe pada Kamis (20/10).

Selain Dubes Meksiko, Mentan juga menerima kehadiran beberapa duta besar negara sahabat di ruang kerjanya di Kementan, kawasan Ragunan Jakarta Selatan untuk membahas kerjasama dan peluang investasi sektor pertanian di Indonesia.

Sebagaimana diberitakan, kabar tentang impor sapi Meksiko telah dikemukakan Mentan Amran Sulaiman pada akhir Agustus lalu, yang menegaskan ketertarikan Indonesia mengimpor sapi Meksiko karena harganya lebih murah ketimbang negara lain.

"Proses pengapalan dari Meksiko ke Indonesia melalui jalur laut membutuhkan waktu sekitar 40 hari," kata Mentan di Jakarta akhir Agustus lalu.

There is no need I mentioned now, God willing, under the current market price," Minister Sulaiman told the press here after after meeting with the Mexican Ambassador for Indonesia, Federico Salas Lotfe on Thursday (10.20.16).

Addition to Mexican Ambassador, Minister Sulaiman also received a courtesy call several ambassadors in his office at the Ministry of Agriculture, South Jakarta Ragunan region to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in the agriculture sector in Indonesia.

As reported, the news of Mexican cattle have been raised by Mr. Sulaiman at the end of August, which confirms the interest of Indonesia on Mexican cattle because the price is cheaper than other countries.

"The process of shipment from Mexico to Indonesia by sea takes about 40 days," he said here on late August.
