Jakarta (B2B) - Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Denny Indrayana stated the Social Security Management Agency (BPJS -Health) is ready to implement the National Health Insurance (JKN) scheme.
"Our colleagues are ready, although this is a humongous task," Denny Indrayana noted during his visit to a 24-hour BPJS-Health command post, here on Monday.
The BPJS-Health command posts have been established following instructions from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during the launch of the National Movement of the BPJS-Health in Sukabumi, West Java, in October 2013.
Indonesia´ss Health Insurance (JKN) scheme is better than that of the US, Obama Health Care according to Indrayana.
The 24-hour BPJS-Health command posts are set up to ensure the smooth implementation of the BPJS-Health scheme. The monitoring activities can be intensively carried out through the BPJS-Health data and information center.
"It is apparent that all the applications are IT-enabled," the deputy minister added.
About 116 million people are covered under the JKN scheme comprising 86.4 million health insurance assistance recipients (PBI), and the rest being civil servants, military as well as police officers.
The information technology system of BPJS-Health must be excellent, as it is the backbone of the health insurance services, he noted.
The Law and Human Rights ministry is currently charting out government and presidential regulations related to the implementation of the BPJS-Health and BPJS-Manpower schemes.
The deputy minister called on private- and state-owned companies to register their employees for the JKN scheme.
"The deadline for the BPJS-Manpower scheme to become operational is set at July 2015. We are currently working on its legalities," he stated.
He also urged Indonesian citizens, who had not joined the scheme, to register with the BPJS office in their respective domiciles.
