Jakarta (B2B) - Guna menjaga pasokan bawang putih di dalam negeri, pemerintah memutuskan untuk melakukan impor bawang putih sebanyak 2 ribu kontainer pada April 2013.
"Sekitar 90 kontainer bawang putih impor sudah masuk pelabuhan. Menyusul kemudian 2 ribu kontainer lagi," kata Menteri Perdagangan, Gita Wiryawan kepada pers di kantor Kementerian Perdagangan, beluma lama ini.
Menurutnya, saat ini kebutuhan bawang putih nasional diperkirakan mencapai 400 ribu ton dan kebutuhan bawang merah mencapai 500 ribu ton.
"Tidak ada alasan harga bawang masih tinggi, buktinya harga bawang putih saat ini sudah turun 70 persen. Sementara untuk bawang merah 30%," ungkap Gita Wirjawan.
