SEBUAH proyek ´mengubah persepsi´ di sebuah biro iklan untuk Ford Figo membuat kesalahan fatal, ketika karya kreatif tersebut malah membuat pusing sang produsen mobil.

Poster untuk sedan kompak yang diunggah ke internet menampilkan sosok terkenal, termasuk bintang reality show TV Paris Hilton dan politisi Italia Silvio Berlusconi, tersenyum gembira saat melihat saingan mereka dalam keadaan terikat, tak berdaya di bagasi mobil.

Gambar-gambar mengejutkan itu semula bermaksud mengiklankan ruang bagasi sedan yang luas sedan, tetapi Ford telah mengeluarkan permintaan maaf dan memberi sanksi terhadap biro iklan yang telah mempublikasi karya kreatif tersebut.

Gambar-gambar yang vulgar itu dibuat oleh sebuah tim muda kreatif dari JWT India, sebuah perusahaan periklanan yang dimiliki oleh Grup WPP.

Mereka mengunggah gambar-gambar tersebut ke situs AdsOfTheWorld tanpa otorisasi dari agen atau klien, kata juru bicara JWT kepada MailOnline.

Dikenal dengan bagasi luas, tagline Figo adalah, ´Leave your worries behind with Figo’s extra-large boot.´

Pada gambar pertama, seleb Paris Hilton mengedipkan mata sambil melirik bintang realitas saingan beratnya, Kardashian sisters yakni Khloe, Kourtney dan Kim Kardashian, yang diikat di bagasi mobil.

Kemudian pada gambar kedua, mantan Perdana Menteri Italia Silvio Berlusconi memberikan pandangan nakal dan mengedipkan tanda perdamaian kepada tiga wanita berpakaian minim, mungkin pelacur, sama-sama terikat dan diikat di bagasi mobil.

The Wall Street Journal Jonathan Welsh mencatat bahwa tiga wanita yang muncul di belakang mobil Berlusconi, mulutnya dalam posisi disumbat sesuatu sementara dua Kardashians, Kourtney dan Kim, mulutnya hanya ditutupi lakban.

"Karya kreatif tersebut tidak bermaksud mendapatkan bayaran, dan seharusnya tidak pernah dibuat, apalagi diupload ke internet. Ini adalah hasil karya dari individu yang bertindak tanpa pengawasan yang tepat dan tindakan tegas telah diambil oleh perusahaan kepada mereka yang bertanggung jawab atas karya kreatif tersebut."

Badan ini membanggakan itu adalah ´komunikasi pemasaran yang paling dikagumi di India,´ menurut profil perusahaan.

Berkantor pusat di Mumbai sejak 1929, Pepsico, FritoLay, Nike, Nestle, Nokia, Levi, Pizza Hut dan Kellogg adalah salah satu perusahaan dalam daftar kliennya.

Ford berpendapat senada bahwa badan itu ngelantur dan poster itu seharusnya tidak pernah dibuat.

"Poster-poster tersebut bertentangan dengan standar profesionalisme dan kesopanan Ford dan mitra agen kami. Bersama dengan mitra kami, kami meninjau persetujuan dan proses pengawasan untuk membantu memastikan hal seperti ini tidak pernah terjadi lagi," kata perusahaan mobil dalam sebuah pernyataan resminya.

A BRAINSTORMING project at an advertising agency for Ford´s Figo has gone very wrong, with the final creative causing a major headache for the car company.

Posters for the compact sedan were uploaded to the internet featuring notable personalities, including reality TV starlet Paris Hilton and disgraced Italian politician Silvio Berlusconi, smiling with glee at seeing their rivals, bound, gagged and stuffed in the car´s trunk.

The shocking drawings were apparently supposed to advertise the sedan´s spacious cargo area but Ford has issued an apology and chastised the ad agency who publicized the artwork.

The offensive drawings were developed by a young creative team at JWT India, an advertising firm owned by the WPP Group.

They were uploaded to the AdsOfTheWorld website without agency or client authorization, a spokesperson for JWT told the MailOnline.

Known for its spacious storage, the Figo´s tagline is, ´Leave your worries behind with Figo’s extra-large boot.´

In the first drawing, celebutante Paris Hilton winks as she glances at her reality TV rivals, Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian, tied up and bound while they squeeze into the back of the car.

Then in a second drawing, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi gives a mischievous glance and flashes the peace sign while three scantily clad ladies, presumably prostitutes, are similarly bound and tied in the back of his trunk.

The Wall Street Journal´s Jonathan Welsh noted that the three women who appeared in the back of Berlusconi´s car were gagged while two of the Kardashians, Kourtney and Kim, just had their mouths taped.

The character most closely resembling Khloe Kardashian appears to be gagged.

A third version of the tasteless creative shows Formula One driver Michael Schumacher behind the wheel of the car while his race car rivals, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso suffer in the back.

Though the print artwork never circulated in any publications, the mockups were posted to the Ads of the World website.

In a statement, JWT said they ´deeply regret the publishing of posters that were distasteful and contrary to the standards of professionalism and decency within WPP Group.´

´These were never intended for paid publication and should never have been created, let alone uploaded to the internet. This was the result of individuals acting without proper oversight and appropriate actions have been taken within the agency where they work to deal with the situation.´

The agency boasts that is ´India’s most admired marketing communications agency brand,´ according to a company profile.

Headquartered in Mumbai since 1929, Pepsico, FritoLay, Nike, Nestle, Nokia, Levi´s, Pizza Hut and Kellogg’s are among the companies on its client list.

Ford similarly said that the agency was out of line and the posters should never have been created.

´The posters are contrary to the standards of professionalism and decency within Ford and our agency partners. Together with our partners, we are reviewing approval and oversight processes to help ensure nothing like this ever happens again,´ the car company said in a statement.
