Lombok (B2B) - The population of cattle in Indonesia is expects to increase through the results of Agricultural Census 2013, which made the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) BPS during May 2013 but has not officially announced the results of the census.

Minister of Agriculture, Suswono expect, the results of Agricultural Census 2013 to show an increase in the cattle population from 2011 to 2013.

"We are awaiting the results of livestock census, because not knowing exactly 2011 to 2013," said Suswono during a working visit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday (12/7).

He hoped the cattle population showed an increase compared to 2011 and 2012, but had it not increase the results of Agricultural Census 2013 can match the cattle population from the previous census.

"If the cow population increases, demand for imports will be reduced, so that the local supply of meat to cover national needs," said Suswono.
