Jakarta (B2B) - Pemerintah tidak membatasi jumlah impor daging prime cut bagi kebutuhan hotel, restoran dan kafe untuk pembuatan beef steak. Namun pintu masuk impor daging tersebut dibatasi hanya pada tiga bandar udara di Jakarta, Denpasar dan Medan.

Menteri Pertanian Suswono menegaskan, pemerintah tidak membatasi kuota daging premium (prime cut) karena dikecualikan dari kebutuhan nasional, tapi pintu masuk dibatasi hanya melalui tiga bandar udara utama di Indonesia.

"Impor daging premium tersebut hanya dapat dilakukan melalui Bandara Soekarno-Hatta Jakarta, Bandara Ngurah Rai Denpasar, dan Bandara Polonia Medan," kata Suswono kepada pers di Komisi IV DPR, Senayan Jakarta, Rabu (29/5).

Dia menambahkan, pengecualian tersebut ditempuh pemerintah karena kebutuhan daging premium terbatas untuk kebutuhan hotel, restoran dan kafe yang rata-rata harganya di atas Rp150 ribu per kg.

Sementara untuk kebutuhan nasional, kata Menteri Pertanian, harga daging dapat berangsur-angsur turun sehingga dapat dijangkau masyarakat luas.

Agriculture Minister Suswono said the government does not restrict meat quota premium (prime cut) as exempt from the national needs, but the entrance is restrict only in the three major airports in Indonesia.

"Imports of premium meat is only allow through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, and Polonia International Airport in Medan," said Suswono told reporters at the House Commission IV, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (29/5).

He added that the exception was taken by the government as premium meat demand is limited to the needs of hotels, restaurants and cafes that the average cost over 150 thousand per kg.

As for the national needs, said Minister of Agriculture, meat prices could go down gradually so as to reach the community.
