Serang (B2B) - Pemerintah akan memberikan kompensasi Rp500 ribu per ekor kepada peternak sapi yang tidak memotong sapi betina. Pemerintah provinsi dan kabupaten diharapkan turut menjaga populasi sapi betina dan tidak sekadar memungut retribusi untuk pendapatan asli daerah.
"Pemerintah daerah jangan hanya memungut retribusi tapi juga menjaga sapi betina produktif agar tidak dipotong. Ini bertentangan dengan undang-undang," kata Menteri Pertanian Suswono saat mengunjungi peternakan milik PT Lembu Jantan Perkasa di Desa di Serang, Banten, Selasa (28/5).
Suswono menambahkan, menurut informasi yang diterimanya masih ada pemerintah daerah yang membiarkan sapi betina produktif dipotong semata mengejar retribusi, dengan mengabaikan kepentingan nasional terhadap penyediaan daging sapi.
"Sesuai ketentuan pemerintah, sapi betina produktif dilarang dipotong, karena untuk pembibitan sekaligus menjadi penentu keberhasilan swasembada daging," tambah Suswono.
Menteri Pertanian mengungkapkan, tujuan kunjungan ke perusahaan pembibitan sapi dan penggemukan sapi di Serang, Banten untuk memantau ketersediaan daging sapi menjelang bulan Ramadan dan Lebaran 2013.
"Saya ke sini untuk meninjau kesiapan pusat pembibitan dan penggemukan sapi. Harapan saya menjelang Ramadan dan Lebaran harga daging sapi dapat turun di kisaran tujuh puluh ribuan rupiah," ungkap Suswono.
Meskipun perdagangan daging melalui mekanisme pasar, Suswono mengingatkan pengusaha tidak memanfaatkan kesempatan ketika permintaan tinggi dengan menaikkan harga daging sapi.
"Keuntungan yang wajar saja. Saya imbau harga daging sapi saat puasa dan Lebaran tidak melambung tinggi agar tidak memberatkan konsumen. Untung boleh dan malah wajib tapi berkelanjutan tanpa mengabaikan kepentingan konsumen," harap Suswono.

Suswono added, according to the information it receives, there are still local governments that allow productive cows is cut solely for the sake of getting retribution, but ignoring the national interests of the beef supply.
"According to government regulations, productive cows is prohibited to cut, due to the nursery as well as a critical success meat self-sufficiency," added Suswono.
Agriculture Minister said the visit to the company´s purpose cattle breeding and fattening in Serang, Banten to monitor the availability of beef ahead of Ramadan and Eid 2013.
"I´m here to review the readiness center breeding and fattening. My hope is Ramadan and Idul Fitri beef prices could fall in the range of seventy thousand dollars," said Suswono.
Although the meat trade through market mechanisms, Suswono remind entrepreneurs not take advantage of the opportunity when the high demand by raising the price of beef.
"Reasonable profits course. I´ll let the price of beef while fasting and Idul Fitri not soar so as not to burden consumers. Gaining profit is fine, but without ignoring the continuing benefit of consumers," please Suswono.
