FERNANDO Torres seharusnya flop. Striker yang belum mencapai prestasi tertinggi sejak meninggalkan Liverpool untuk Chelsea 2,5 tahun yang lalu untuk nilai transfer yang mengejutkan sebesar 50 juta euro.
Namun, setelah Chelsea meraih trofi kedua mereka di Eropa dalam beberapa musim dengan mengalahkan Benfica di Amsterdam semalam, Torres adalah pemegang empat piala benua baik di tingkat klub maupun internasional, seperti dilansir Mail Online.

Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund won´t take the Blues´ Champions League crown until next Saturday and, with Spain´s European Championship and World Cup, the Europa League completes the set of major trophies for the 29-year-old former Atletico Madrid striker.
And Torres, who this season managed to notch up more than 20 goals in a campaign for the first time in three years, has played his part in helping his club and country reach such heights.
Spain have been peerless in recent years in major international competitions.
As well as striking the decisive goal in the 2008 Euros to dispatch Germany in the final, Torres took the golden boot in the 2012 Euros after netting during Spain’s rout in the final against Mario Balotelli’s Italy.
Despite starting only two games, Torres managed to score three goals. Six strikers reached the three-goal mark, with Mario Gomez (Germany), Alan Dzagoev (russia), Mario Mandzukic (Croatia), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and Balotelli all matching Torres.
But the Spain striker´s 88th-minute assist for Juan Mata in the final for Spain´s fourth earned Torres the gong over his rivals.
Torres also scored a crucial breakaway goal for Chelsea in the semi-final of last season’s Champions League against Barcelona. As Pep Guardiola’s Barca pressed for an equaliser, Ashley Cole managed to boot a loose ball up the pitch.
The striker, with yards of green grass to run into, carried the ball, rounded Victor Valdes and sent Chelsea into the final after rolling it into the gaping goal. As we know all too well, they beat Bayern on penalties at the Allianz Arena.
Torres struck the opener against Benfica in Amsterdam last night too. After some soft defending from the Portuguese side, Torres still had his work cut out for him as he bore down on the two burly centre halves Ezequiel Garay and Luisao.
