Arsenal, without the rested Jack Wilshere, made an excellent to the match, with Theo Walcott forcing David Stockdale into an excellent save after a lovely Tomas Rosicky ball.
Giroud then found the net after Walcott drilled in a corner from the right, but Aaron Hughes hacked away under pressure.

But Arsenal soon stepped up a gear and made it 2-0 when Stockdale parried another Walcott shot, and Podolski hammered in the rebound.
The half-time break came and went amid more rain in west London, before Arsenal put the game beyond Fulham.
Santi Cazorla tricked his way into the box, before pulling back for Podolski to drill in his second goal of the fixture.
Darren Bent pulled one back when he stabbed in at the back post, just minutes after coming off the bench, but the Gunners kept their composure and wrapped up the three points.
