Baru pada menit 34, Chelsea mampu menambah keunggulan melalui tendangan kaki kanan Oscar yang lagi-lagi buah umpan Eden Hazard.
Babak pertama diakhiri dengan skor 2-0 untuk Chelsea setelah beberapa upaya, di antaranya tendangan Frank Lampard gagal membuahkan gol.
Berbeda dengan babak pertama, pada paruh waktu kedua permainan sedikit alot dan masing-masing masih sulit mencetak gol.
Namun pada menit 81, Frank Lampard berhasil melengkapi kemenangan Chelsea 3-0 melalui tendangan kaki kanannya melesakkan bola ke sudut kiri bawah gawang West Ham.
Dengan kemenangan tiga gol tanpa balas, Chelsea beranjak ke peringkat tiga klasemen, menggeser Southampton yang pada pertandingan sebelumnya dikalahkan sang pemuncak Arsenal 0-2.
Chelsea berada di posisi tiga dengan poin 24 sama dengan raihan Liverpol yang berada di posisi dua namun unggul selisih gol.
Posisi Liverpool sekarang terancam setelah hanya bermain imbang 3-3 melawan Everton, demikian menurut klasemen di laman resmi Premier League Minggu dinihari.
