GUNS N´ ROSES (GNR) adalah kelompok musik hard rock dari Amerika Serikat yang berdiri pada 1984 dan resmi pada Maret 1985. Anggota pendiri GNR adalah Axl Rose yang merupakan eks vokalis Hollywood Rose lan Tracii Guns yang juga eks gitaris L.A Guns. Grup yang didirikan di Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat ini sempat berganti-ganti personel bahkan Tracii Guns pun hengkang dari grup ini.
Band ini sangat top dan terkenal di era 80-an dan 90-an. Mereka pertama melejit lewat album 1987 Appetite for Destruction dengan hits Sweet Child O´Mine, Paradise City, dan Welcome To The Jungle. Kemudian merilis album akustik yang di beri nama G N´ R Lies dengan hits manis Patience dan kemudian menerbitkan dua album berbarengan Use Your Illusion I dan Use Your Illusion II yang juga melejit dan meledak dengan beberapa hits fenomenal seperti Don´t Cry, November Rain, Civil War, Knockin´ on Heaven´s Door, dan Estranged.
Album The Spaghetti Incident? yang mereka rilis pada 1993 nampaknya adalah pertanda berakhirnya kejayaan GN´R. Album yang berisi lagu-lagu daur ulang dari artis lain ini tak bisa meraup keuntungan seperti album-album sebelumnya.
GN´R berada di puncak kejayaan mereka dengan formasi: Axl Rose - lead vocal, Slash - guitar, Izzy Stradlin - rythm guitar, Duff McKagan - bass, Dizzy Reed - keyboard, dan Matt Sorum - drums.
Sampai kini lagu-lagu maupun video GN´R tetap diputar dan penggemarnya pun lintas generasi. Animo tersebut mendorong MPoint, karaoke terkemuka di kawasan Blok M, Jakarta Selatan menggelar event bertajuk A Tribute Guns N Roses pada Rabu, 28 November 2012 pukul 21.00 sampai selesai.
Acara live music yang dirancang sebagai Mini Concert tersebut akan menampilkan CatRock Band, 9 Lives Band dan TNT Band.
"MPoint akan memberikan 20% Off Hennesy Bottle sekaligus nonton bareng Suzuki AFF Cup 2012 yang menampilkan laga Indonesia versus Singapura pada pukul 17.00 Wib," kata Head of Corporate Marketing MPoint, Shanti Vidia Haqim kepada B2B di Jakarta, Selasa (27/11).
GUNS N ROSES is a hard rock band from US founded in 1984 and is officially set up in March 1985. The founding members are Axl Rose, former vocalist of Hollywood Rose, lan Tracii Guns, ex guitarist of L.A Guns. The group, founded in Los Angeles, US, once changed personnel and even Tracii Guns also quit the band.
The band is very popular in 80s and 90s. It first flew to stardom through its 1987 album entitled Appetite for Destruction with some singles such as Sweet Child O´Mine, Paradise City, and Welcome To The Jungle. Then it launched acoustic album entitled G N´ R Lies with hits such as Patience and also launched two albums simultaneously, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II which were also popular with some of its phenomenal songs such as Don´t Cry, November Rain, Civil War, Knockin´ on Heaven´s Door, and Estranged.
The Spaghetti Incident? Album which they released in 1993 was the end of the band’s golden time. The album containing recycled songs from other artists could not reap profit as much as the previous ones.
GN’R was on top with personnel: Axl Rose - lead vocal, Slash - guitar, Izzy Stradlin - rythm guitar, Duff McKagan - bass, Dizzy Reed - keyboard, and Matt Sorum - drums.
Until now, the band’s videos and songs are still played and the fans come from all ages. This inspires MPoint, a renowned karaoke club in Blok M, South Jakarta, to organize an event dubbed A Tribute to Guns N Roses on November 28, 2012 from 9 PM till finished.
The live music event, designed as mini concert, will feature Cat Rock Band, 9 Lives Band and TNT Band.
