PENYANYI Penyanyi Joy Tobing dari kecil sudah suka dengan ikan. Maklum, sebagai orang Batak ia sudah terbiasa dengan lauk yang bau amis itu. Tradisi di keluarganya dalam satu pekan biasanya harus ada ikan dalam menemani makan. Tidak heran jika kebiasaan itu terbawa dalam kehidupannya saat ini, terutama bagi anaknya.

“Buat kami ikan sudah menjadi menu utama. Mungkin bagi sebagian orang ikan dianggap kurang berselera karena baunya yang menyengat, tapi bagi kami justru menjadi menu istimewa,” kata Joy Tobing di Jakarta, beberapa waktu lalu.

Artis jebolan Indonesian Idol ini punya resep khusus supaya bau amis ikan tidak terasa. Ia memasaknya dengan berbagai bumbu sehingga ikan jadi enak untuk disantap.

“Ikan jika digoreng mungkin masih erasa baunya, tapi jika di gulai kuning akan lain lagi rasanya,” tambahnya.

The tradition in her family is that within one week they usually should have fish to accompany their meal. No wonder if this habit is still remains in her present life, especially for her children.

"For us, fish has become our main menu. Maybe for some people fish is considered not to inviting because of the smell, but for us it has become a special menu, "said Joy Tobing in Jakarta, some time ago.

This artist from the Indonesian Idol has a special recipe so that the fishy smell of the fish does not ruin the taste. She cooks it using various herbs so the fish will become delicious to eat.

"Fish when fried can still be smelly, but if made into yellow curry it will taste differently," she added.
