Bring Your Own Device Trend On the Rise

PERILAKU karyawan membawa gadget mereka sendiri (Bring Your Own Device/BYOD) untuk bekerja dan mengakses aplikasi kantor melalui ponsel pintar makin berkembang di Indonesia.
"Tren karyawan mengakses aplikasi perusahaan masih ada," kata Presiden Direktur PT Metrodata Electronics, Susanto Djaja di Jakarta, belum lama ini.
Susanto mengatakan industri yang paling pertama mengadopsi penggunaan variasi peralatan elektronika karyawan adalah sektor perbankan dan diikuti sektor manufaktur serta perusahaan yang menjangkau konsumen secara massal.
Senior Manager Cisco Indonesia, Chandra Herawan, mengatakan perilaku BYOD di Indonesia telah dimulai sejak 2009, sedangkan di AS sudah sejak 2005.
"Justru perusahaan-perusahaan kecil yang seringkali lebih cepat beradopsi dengan perkembangan dan perilaku penggunaan teknologi karena pelanggan mereka terbatas dan tidak mempunyai aturan ribet," kata Chandra.
Perusahaan riset pasar B2B International bersama Kaspersky Lab melansir 72 persen perusahaan yang disurvei akan menerapkan konsep BYOD.
"Sebanyak 50 persen dari perusahaan yang disurvei akan menganjurkan karyawan untuk menggunakan komputer mereka sendiri dan perangkat lain untuk bekerja," sebut Kepala Pemasaran Kaspersky Lab, Alexander Erofeev, dalam siaran resminya.
Sementara, survei Cisco Visual Networking Index Forecast menunjukkan akan ada 439 juta perangkat bergerak (mobile) terhubung dengan jaringan Internet pada 2016.
Survei terbaru perusahaan riset Gartner ada sekitar 1,2 miliar ponsel cerdas digunakan di seluruh dunia saat ini. Angka ini mendekati penggunaan komputer personal (desktop, laptop, netbook dan tablet PC). Sementara itu satu dari tiga perangkat terjual adalah ponsel cerdas.

Di sisi lain, inisiatif mobilitas akan mengambil porsi 20% di tahun tersebut dibandingkan dengan 17% di tahun ini dimana peningkatan anggaran kemungkinan besar dialokasikan untuk kebijakan BYOD.

Susanto said the first industry to adopt the use of different employee electronic equipment is the banking sector followed by manufacturing sectors as well as companies that reach consumers in masses.
Cisco Indonesia Senior Manager, Chandra Herawan said BYOD behavior in Indonesia has started since 2009, while in the U.S. it was as late as 2005.
"In fact it’s the small companies who often adept quicker to the development and technology usage behavior because they have limited customers less complicated rules," said Chandra.
B2B International market research firm with Kaspersky Lab reported that 72 percent of companies surveyed will apply the BYODconcept.
"Some 50 percent of companies surveyed will encourage its employees to use their own computers and other devices to work," said Chief Marketing Officer of Kaspersky Lab, Alexander Erofeev, in an official statement.
Meanwhile, a survey of Cisco Visual Networking Index Forecast indicates there will be 439 million mobile devices (mobile) connected to the Internet networks in 2016.
