Jakarta (B2B) - Merebaknya flu burung virus H7N9 yang ´baru´ di China, Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian di Kementerian Pertanian mengingatkan masyarakat untuk waspada terhadap penyebaran virus. Indonesia harus segera mengantisipasi dengan melarang impor unggas dan produknya maupun barang-barang yang dapat berperan sebagai media pembawa virus H7N9.

"Selain itu harus mampu menguasai teknik deteksi virus AI H7N9 secara cepat dan akurat. Badan Litbang Pertanian yang memiliki Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) sebagai laboratorium rujukan untuk diagnosa penyakit hewan harus berperan dalam mengantisipasi virus berbahaya tersebut," kata Haryono, Kepala Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian di Kementerian Pertanian kepada pers dalam diskusi panel di Jakarta, Selasa (30/4).

Menurutnya, perkembangan penyakit ini tergolong cepat sejak kasus pertama diketahui pada pertengahan Februari 2013, sehingga Badan Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) mengkhawatirkan kemungkinan terjadinya Pandemi walaupun sampai saat ini belum ada bukti penularan antarmanusia.

"Bahaya tersebut mendorong WHO dan para ahli internasional mengingatkan agar masing-masing negara di Asia mengantisipasi terhadap kemungkinan menyebarnya penyakit tersebut," ungkap Haryono.

Menurutnya, kejadian wabah H7N9 di China ini mengingatkan kita pada wabah AI H5N1 yang terjadi di Indonesia pada 2003 dan menyebabkan kematian jutaan ekor unggas bahkan kematian manusia pada 2005 hingga 2011, kemudian wabah AI H5N1 Clade 2.3.2 pada itik sekitar Oktober hingga Desember 2012.

"Virus AI dapat dikelompokkan menjadi dua kelompok, yakni virus AI Low Pathogenic (LPAI) dan virus AI Highly Pathogenic (HPAI). Virus H7N9 ´baru´ ini tergolong LPAI pada unggas tetapi saat ini virus tersebut cukup mematikan bagi manusia yang terinfeksi.

Virus novel H7N9 ini, kata Haryono, merupakan virus baru ´gabungan´ dari tiga virus AI asal unggas yang memiliki sifat patogen rendah (Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza/LPAI).

Menurut peneliti, tambah Haryono, Gao et.al (2013), gen yang ditemukan dari virus H7N9 ini berasal dari unggas (avian origin). Virus ini merupakan virus reassortment 6 gen internal dari virus avian influenza A (H9N2) A/brambling/Beijing/16/2012, gen HA berasal dari A/duck/Zhejiang/12/2011 (H7N3) , dan gen NA diduga berasal dari A/wildbird/Korea/A14/2011 (H7N9).
