Tegal (B2B) - Pemerintah berkomitmen untuk terus melindungi kepentingan petani hortikultura, salah satunya dengan menerapkan kebijakan aturan importasi produk hortikultura dengan baik. Namun, pemerintah tidak dapat menghentikan produk impor, karena apabila dilakukan, maka produk ekspor Indonesia akan ditolak masuk ke negara lain.
Demikian dikatakan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) saat menjawab pertanyaan para petani, peternak dan masyarakat pada acara temu wicara di lereng Gunung Slamet, Desa Batumirah, Kecamatan Bojong, Kabupaten Tegal pada Kamis (21/2).
Pada kesempatan tersebut, Abdul Jafar Setiawan, salah satu petani hortikultura di Jawa tengah, mengeluhkan impor sayuran yang kurang terkendali, sehingga memukul petani sayur di dalam negeri.
“Hal ini, karena harga jual sayur impor di pasar dalam negeri lebih murah ketimbang harga jual sayuran produksi petani lokal,” kata Presiden yang didampingi Menteri Pertanian Suswono.
Menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, SBY menyatakan bahwa pemerintah telah berupaya membuat kebijakan yang tepat, dengan memperhatikan kesejahteraan petani dan kebutuhan konsumen dalam negeri.
"Kalau kita sama sekali melarang masuknya barang dan jasa, kita juga dilarang negara lain sehingga tidak bisa mengekspor. Yang terpenting, kebijakan ekspor impor ini harus tepat. Jangan ceroboh dan gegabah. Jangan sampai petani tercekik oleh kebijakan itu," kata Presiden SBY yang hadir di Tegal bersama Ibu Ani Yudhoyono.

On the occasion, Abdul Jafar Setiawan, one of the horticultural growers in central Java, complained about the lack of control the import of vegetables, so hit the vegetable growers in the country.
"It is, because the the sale price vegetable imports in the domestic market is cheaper than the sale price vegetable production for local farmers," said the President, accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Suswono.
Answering that question, the President said the government has sought to make the right policy, taking into account the welfare of the farmers and the consumers needs in the country.
"If we are totally banned the entry of goods and services, we are also banned from other countries that can not be exporting. Importantly, export import policy must be precise. Do not be careless and reckless. Farmers do not get choked by the policy," said the President in attendance in Tegal together First Lady Ani Yudhoyono.
