Jakarta (B2B) - Kementerian Pertanian RI melakukan pemantauan khusus pasokan dan harga pangan pokok di delapan provinsi yang mayoritas masyarakatnya akan merayakan Natal dan Tahun Baru yakni Sumatera Utara, Kalimantan Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Sulawesi Utara, Maluku, Maluku Utara, Papua, dan Papua Barat.
"Ada beberapa provinsi yang perlu dilakukan pengawasan intensif, khususnya daerah-daerah yang warganya banyak merayakan Natal dan Tahun Baru," kata Kepala Badan Ketahanan Pangan (BKP) Kementan, Agung Hendriadi melalui pernyataan tertulis di Jakarta, belum lama ini.
Dia menambahkan, bahwa berdasarkan prognosa kebutuhan 11 komoditas pangan strategis pada November dan Desember mencukupi kecuali daging sapi, yang harus diakui masih minus, namun pemerintah terus berupaya menambah pasokan daging sapi.
"Insya Allah semuanya aman. Masyarakat tidak perlu khawatir terhadap ketersediaan dan harga kebutuhan pokok menjelang Natal 2017 dan Tahun Baru 2018,"
Pantauan khusus BKP di kedelapan provinsi ini sangat realistis lantaran tingginya kebutuhan penduduk terhadap kebutuhan pokok jelang Natal dan Tahun Baru. Hasil sensus penduduk dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) menyebutkan 31% dari hampir 13 juta penduduk Sumatera Utara akan merayakan hari besar keagamaan Nasrani tersebut.
Begitu pula 34,32% dari 5,34 juta penduduk Kalimantan Barat, 88,88% dari 4,68 juta penduduk NTT, 68% dari 2,27 juta penduduk Sulawesi Utara, 48,16% dari 1,53 juta penduduk Maluku, 25,42% dari 1,93 juta penduduk Maluku Utara, 83,15% dari 2,83 juta penduduk Papua, dan 60,80% dari 760.422 penduduk Papua Barat.
Produksi dan Konsumsi
BKP Kementan mengelaborasi pasokan bahan pokok seperti produksi beras pada November mencapai 2,6 juta ton sementara konsumsinya 2,3 juta ton atau surplus 300.000 ton. Produksi beras Desember diperkirakan 2,51 juta ton dan konsumsi 2,50 juta ton (surplus 10.000 ton).
"Produksi bawang merah November 103.000 ton, konsumsi 93.000 ton atau surplus 10.000 ton, produksi Desember 107.000 ton dan konsumsi 99.000 ton atau surplus 8.000 ton," kata Agung Hendriadi.
Produksi cabai rawit November mencapai 78.000 ton, konsumsi 72.000 ton (surplus 6.000 ton), produksi Desember 80.000 ton dan konsumsi 73.000 ton (surplus 7.000 ton).
Produksi jagung November mencapai 1,49 juta ton, konsumsi 1,46 juta ton (surplus 30.000 ton), produksi Desember 1,47 juta ton dan konsumsi 1,43 juta ton (40.000 ton).
Dia mengakui khusus daging sapi masih minus produksinya, untuk pasokan November mencapai 31.000 ton dan kebutuhan 49.000 ton atau kurang 18.000 ton. Begitu pula pasokan Desember hanya 32.000 ton dari kebutuhan 50.000 ton, sehingga pemerintah menempuh langkah impor daging sapi sekitar 50.000 ton untuk mengantisipasi kebutuhan Natal dan Tahun Baru.

"There are several provinces that need intensive monitoring, especially in provinces where many people celebrate Christmas and New Year," said Director General of the Food Security Agency, Agung Hendriadi through the written statement here, recently.
He claimed referred the prognosis of 11 strategic food commodity needs in November, and December is sufficient except for beef, however, the government seeks to increase the supply of beef.
"God willing all safe. Consumers do not need to worry about supply and price of basic commodities ahead of Christmas and New Year," he said.
The ministry's BKP's special monitoring in eight provinces is realistic because of high population demand for basic needs ahead of Christmas and New Year. The results of population census by Central Statistics Agency, or the BPS, said 31% of nearly 13 million people of North Sumatra will celebrate the Christian religious holidays.
Similarly, 34.32% of 5.34 million people of West Kalimantan, 88.88% of 4.68 million people East Nusa Tenggara, 68% of 2.27 million people of North Sulawesi, 48.16% of 1.53 million people of Maluku, 25.42% of 1.93 million people of North Maluku, 83.15% of 2.83 million Papuans, and 60.80% of 760,422 West Papuans.
Production and Consumption
The ministry elaborated November's rice production to 2.6 million tons while consumption of 2.3 million tons or a surplus of 300,000 tons. Rice production in December estimated 2.51 million tonnes and consumption of 2.50 million tonnes (surplus of 10,000 tons).
"Shallot production in November 103,000 tons, consumption 93,000 tons or surplus 10,000 tons, December production 107,000 tons and consumption 99,000 tons or surplus 8,000 tons," Mr Hendriadi said.
Chilli pepper production in November 78,000 tons, consumption of 72,000 tons (surplus 6,000 tons), production of December 80,000 tons and consumption of 73,000 tons (surplus 7,000 tons).
Corn production in November 1.49 million tons, consumption of 1.46 million tons (surplus 30,000 tons), December production of 1.47 million tons and consumption of 1.43 million tons (40,000 tons).
He acknowledged the beef still minus, supply of 31,000 tons of November and the needs 49,000 tons or minus 18,000 tons. Similarly, December supply is only 32,000 tons of consumer needs of 50,000 tons, so the government imports 50,000 tons for Christmas and New Year.
