Jakarta (B2B) - Kementerian Pertanian RI menegaskan peningkatan produksi padi 2016 hingga 79,4 juta ton gabah kering giling (GKG) mendorong rerata harga beras konsumen Rp10.698 per kg pada Januari 2017 atau turun 0,98% dari periode yang sama pada 2016, begitu pula pada bulan berikutnya seperti Februari harga turun 1,76%, Maret -2,39%, April -1,37%, dan Mei -0,09%, sehingga tidaklah benar kabar yang mengatakan bahwa harga beras di Indonesia lebih mahal ketimbang negara lain.
Sekretaris Jenderal Kementan, Hari Priono mengatakan harga gabah maupun harga beras tahun ini di atas harga pembelian pemerintah (HPP) sebesar Rp3.700 per kg gabah kering panen (GKP) dan Rp7.300 per kg beras, sementara rerata harga beras per Juni 2017 sebesar Rp10.597 per kg, sehingga dapat dipastikan harga beras terkendali sejak Januari sampai Juni 2017, dan petani dapat menikmati marjin sekitar Rp65,7 triliun setahun.
Data dari Bloomberg dan Bank Dunia menunjukkan bahwa harga beras dalam satuan kilogram di negara lain lebih mahal ketimbang harga beras rerata di Indonesia. Harga beras di Jepang Rp48.779, Korea Selatan Rp35.833, Singapura Rp27.501, Taiwan Rp22.482, Amerika Serikat Rp22.081, Turki Rp18.181, China Rp11.441, Thailand Rp11.241, Malaysia Rp11.241, Filipina Rp9.133, dan Vietnam Rp7.126/kg.
Sementara merujuk harga beras per kilogram di 126 negara seperti dilansir newsletter blog API, termahal adalah Bermuda US$5,70 dan termurah adalah Mesir hanya US$0,54. Sebagai informasi, harga beras di Indonesia pada Maret 2017 adalah US$0,79 atau di urutan 116 dari 126 negara.
"Sementara data Bloomberg pada 11 Juni 2017 menyebutkan harga beras rerata internasional adalah Rp11.830 atau US$0,89 dengan kurs Rp13.290 per dolar AS. Angka-angka tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tidak benar bila disebutkan bahwa harga beras Indonesia termahal di dunia," kata Hari Priono.
Menurutnya, target swasembada pangan bertujuan untuk ketahanan pangan sekaligus mensejahterakan petani, "dan kenapa dalam pemikiran para pengamat bahwa petani harus selalu dimarjinalkan, padahal sesuai UUD 1945 menetapkan bahwa pemerintah hadir untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan rakyat."
