AHMAD Dhani yang biasanya mendominasi X Factor kali ini kena batunya, lantaran tidak fasih berbahasa Inggris. Kelemahan pendiri grup band Dewa 19 itu terkuak ketika menjadi juri pertama yang mengomentari duet Novita Dewi dan Jahmene Douglas setelah membawakan lagu Hello.
"I Just want to say, I don´t know what to say. I problem with my English," ujar Dhani di panggung X Factor Around The World yang membuat para penonton tertawa seraya mencemoohnya.
Kendati begitu Ahmad Dhani tetap ´pede´ tampil menjadi juri X Factor dari mancanegara seperti Louis Walsh (Inggris Raya), Daniel Bedingfield (Selandia Baru), dan Paula Abdul (Amerika Serikat).
Syukurlah Anggun C Sasmi yang turut menjadi juri mampu menetralisir suasana, dengan membantu menerjemahkan. Namun pernyataan Ahmad Dhani tetap membuat bingung juri maupun kontestan X Factor yang berlangsung di JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Sabtu malam (24/8.)
"I think... I think... menjadi kata awalan Ahmad Dhani saat mengomentari penyanyi Australia, Samantha Jade. Karena kalimat "I think.... tidak dilanjutkan dengan kata berikutnya, sontak mengundang sorak-sorai dan cemooh dari penonton terhadap Ahmad Dhani.
Kadung ketahuan tidak becus berbahasa Inggris, Ahmad Dhani pun memilih berbahasa Indonesia saat mengomentari Melanie Amaro dari X Factor Amerika Serikat. Kali ini Melanie Amaro yang tampak bingung karena tidak faham pada bahasa Indonesia.
"Suaramu powerful sekali. Semua suka suara kamu," kata Ahmad Dhani. Anggun C Sasmi pun membantu menerjemahkan, "he said good things about you."
Paula Abdul pun berkomentar, "Kamu kok bisa membuat sesuatu jadi lucu ya, saya pikir kamu seorang komedian," ujar Paula yang memancing tawa dari penonton X Factor Around The World.
Dhani pun ikut tertawa mendengar kata-kata Paula, dan kemudian berkomentar. "I´m always serious when I´m talking," ujar Dhani. Namun usaha Dhani untuk serius gagal, karena kata-katanya itu justru menambah gelak tawa para penonton.
Ahmad Dhani tak cuma jadi bahan tertawaan penonton di di JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, tapi juga di media sosial Twitter.
