BINTANG Avatar, Sam Worthington ditangkap setelah diduga berkelahi dengan petugas keamanan di sebuah klub malam di Atlanta, Sabtu malam pekan lalu.
Aktor 36 tahun itu dibekuk dengan semprotan merica dan diborgol oleh petugas setelah dilaporkan naik pitam dan mendorong doorman ketika ia ditolak masuk klub. Namun tuduhan terhadap bintang tersebut segera ditarik, Senin pagi, lantaran doorman tidak muncul di pengadilan.
Petugas keamanan, Jerry Link, yang memborgol aktor tersebut hingga polisi di bar The Vortex di Atlanta, Georgia, setelah ia diduga mendorong doorman setelah dilarang masuk.
Kepada TMZ.com dia menyangka aktor Australia tersebut adalah pria tunawisma karena dia tiba di bar and grill mengenakan kaos dekil seraya membawa setumpuk pakaian.
Jerry juga mengklaim setelah menyemprot Sam dengan semprotan merica - sang aktor berada di kota tersebut untuk syuting film Ten bersama Arnold Schwarzenegger yang berperan sebagai agen DEA - lalu Sam berteriak: "Saya agen DEA. You f**ked now."
Polisi pun dipanggil dan menangkap Worthington atas tuduhan melanggar ketertiban, seperti dikutip Daily Mail.
Seluruh tuduhan terhadap sang aktor telah dicabut meskipun ada insiden tersebut direkam oleh kamera keamanan di bar.
Worthington membintangi film Ten bersama Arnold Schwarzenegger, Joe Manganiello, Malin Akerman, Josh Holloway, Terence Howard dan Mireille Enos.
Sang aktor tampil terakhir di layar lebar melalui film mitos Yunani Clash Of The Titans awal tahun ini. Sebelumnya terlibat di film Run Thunder dan dijadwalkan muncul di Avatar 2.
Worthington menjadi aktor populer internasional setelah menjadi pemeran utama sebagai marinir lumpuh AS, Jake Sully di Avatar.

AVATAR star Sam Worthington was arrested after allegedly fighting with a bouncer at an Atlanta nightclub on Saturday night.
The 36-year-old was subdued with pepper spray and handcuffed by staff after he reportedly lost his temper and pushed a doorman when he was refused entry to the club. But the charges against the star were promptly dismissed on Monday morning when the doorman failed to appear in court.
Security man Jerry Link - who handcuffed the 36-year-old actor until police arrived at The Vortex bar in Atlanta, Georgia after he allegedly pushed the doorman for being refused entry.
He told gossip website TMZ.com that he presumed the Australian actor was a homeless man because he arrived at the bar and grill wearing a dirty sweatshirt and carrying a pile of clothes.
Jerry also claimed that upon being pepper sprayed Sam - who is currently in the city filming his new movie Ten alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in which he is playing a DEA agent - began screaming: 'I'm a DEA agent. You f**ked up now.'
After the confrontation police were called and arrested Worthington for disorderly conduct, as quoted Daily Mail.
All charges against the actor have now been dismissed despite reports that the incident was captured in full by the bar's security cameras.
Worthington is starring in Ten alongside the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Joe Manganiello, Malin Akerman, Josh Holloway, Terrence Howard and Mireille Enos.
The actor was last seen in Greek action myth movie Clash Of The Titans earlier this year. He is also filming Thunder Run and is slated to appear in Avatar 2.
Worthington found international fame with his leading role as paraplegic US marine Jake Sully in Avatar.
