Jakarta (B2B) - Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) menyatakan jumlah penduduk Indonesia dari hasil sensus terakhir mencapai 255,462 juta orang, konsumsi beras per kapita per tahun sekitar 124,89 kg sehingga dibutuhkan 33,368 juta ton beras untuk memenuhi konsumsi seluruh rakyat Indonesia sepanjang 2015, maupun untuk kebutuhan industri dan tercecer.
Direktur Jenderal Tanaman Pangan Kementan, Hasil Sembiring mengatakan dari perkiraan konsumsi BPS dan merujuk pada produksi padi Angka Ramalan Satu (Aram) sebanyak 75.551 juta ton gabah kering giling (GKG) setara dengan 43,940 juta ton beras tersedia, setelah memperhitungkan kebutuhan untuk benih, industri, beras tercecer dan lain-lain maka pada 2015 diperkirakan surplus beras sekitar 10,572 juta ton.
"Bila dirinci antara kebutuhan dan produksi padi pada bulan yang sama, maka selama 2015 diprakirakan defisit dalam lima bulan yakni Januari, Mei, Oktober, November, dan Desember," kata Hasil Sembiring kepada pers di Jakarta, belum lama ini.
Namun secara akumulasi, menurut Hasil Sembiring, tetap surplus 10,57 juta ton beras, bila menggunakan tingkat konsumsi rata-rata nasional 124,89 kg beras per kapita per tahun dan konsumsi tingkat provinsi diolah berdasarkan data survei BPS tentang konsumsi beras per kapita tahun 2012.

"From the calculations between the needs of rice production in the same month, the forecasted deficit for 2015 within five months of the January, May, October, November, and December," Mr Sembiring said.
But in accumulation, according to Mr Sembiring, still surplus 10.57 million tonnes of rice, referring to the level of the national average consumption of 124.89 kg of rice per capita per year.
