Jakarta (B2B) - Persediaan beras di Perum Badan Urusan Logistik (Bulog) saat ini sekitar dua juta ton, utuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negeri. Pemerintah mengaku optimistis tidak akan ada impor beras selama 2013, karena didukung luas lahan panen beras tahun ini mencapai 13,5 juta hektar.
"Mudah-mudahan tahun ini Bulog tidak impor beras. Kalau untuk menutupi kekurangan hingga akhir tahun, minimal stok 1,5 juta ton hingga 2 juta ton. Kalau di bawah itu jumlahnya, maka harus melakukan penambahan melalui impor. Tapi kemungkinan besar tidak akan impor," kata Menteri Pertanian (Mentan) Suswono di Jakarta, Minggu (27/10).
Kepastian tidak ada impor beras, kata Suswono, diperolehnya dari penjelasan direktur utama Perum Bulog, yang memastikan tidak impor beras tahun ini.
Selain beras, menurut Suswono, produksi jagung dalam negeri tahun ini juga cukup baik sehingga relatif sudah mampu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nasional.
Sebelumnya, Dirut Perum Bulog Sutarto Alimoeso menyatakan optimistis pada 2013 tidak akan ada impor beras, mengingat pengadaan beras dalam negeri yang dilakukan perusahaan negara tersebut mencapai 3,205 juta ton hingga 21 Oktober 2013.

The certainty of no rice import, Suswono said, according to the information from Bulog chief, which ensures not rice import this year.
Suswono said the domestic corn production this year is also quite high, so it is relatively able to meet national needs.
Earlier, President Director of Perum Bulog, Sutarto Alimoeso is optimistic in 2013 there was no rice imports, because domestic rice supply in Bulog to reach 3,205 million tons until October 21, 2013.
