Jakarta (B2B) - Kementerian Pertanian RI memprediksi produksi jagung lima tahun terakhir meningkat rata-rata 12,49% per tahun, dan produksi 2018 diperkirakan mencapai 30 juta ton pipilan kering (PK). Sementara kebutuhan 2018 diperkirakan 15,5 juta ton PK atau surplus 12,98 juta ton PK, dan 372.990 ton di antaranya diekspor ke Filipina dan Malaysia.
Surplus tersebut setelah menghitung perkiraan produksi 2018 dikurangi proyeksi kebutuhan jagunga nasional, sekalgus menepis tudingan bahwa pakan ternak naik lantaran data produksi dan kebutuhan tidak akurat.
Angka Ramalan pertama (Aram I) Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) mengurai tentang luas panen rata-rata naik 11,06% dan produktivitas rata-rata naik 1,42%, seperti dilansir Humas Kementan melalui pernyataan tertulis, Kamis (27/9).
Terkait kebutuhan 2018 diperkirakan 15,5 juta ton, Humas Kementan mengelaborasi kebutuhan pakan ternak sekitar 7,6 juta ton PK, peternak mandiri 2,52 juta ton PK, industri pangan 4,76 juta ton PK, dan kebutuhan benih 120.000 ton PK.
Kementan juga mengungkap tentang periode panen, khususnya di wilayah barat Indonesia terjadi Januari hingga Maret meliputi 37% dari produksi nasional, dan wilayah timur Indonesia cenderung pada April hingga Mei.
Sentra produksi jagung tersebar di 10 provinsi yakni Jawa Timur, Jawa Tengah, Sulawesi Selatan, Lampung, Sumatera Utara, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), Gorontalo, Jawa Barat, Sulawesi Utara, dan Sumatera Barat, dengan total produksi 24,24 juta ton PK. Artinya, 83,8 persen produksi jagung 10 sentra produksi berlangsung baik.

While the 2018 requirement is estimated of 15.5 million tons, The ministry´s public relations elaborates the need for animal feed around 7.6 million tons PK, independent breeder 2.52 million tons PK, food industry 4.76 million tons PK, and the need for seeds 120,000 tons PK.
The ministry also revealed the harvest period, especially in the western region of Indonesia in January to March around 37% of national production, and eastern Indonesia tends to be from April to May.
Corn production centers are spread in 10 provinces namely East Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, Lampung, North Sumatra, West Nusa Tenggara, Gorontalo, West Java, North Sulawesi, and West Sumatra with total production of 24.24 million tons PK.
