Limapuluh Kota, Sumbar (B2B) - Pemerintah RI mendorong ekspor komoditas pertanian, khususnya ekspor buah manggis yang tahun ini diperkirakan mencapai 60 ribu ton atau melonjak 553% dari 2017, hanya 9 ribu ton. Ditopang produksi nasional 2017 mencapai 161 ribu ton lalu naik ke 166 ribu ton pada 2018, Jawa Barat memasok 42 ribu ton atau 26% disusul Sumatera Barat sebanyak 34 ribu ton atau 21% dari produksi nasional.
Hal itu dikemukakan Menteri Pertanian RI Andi Amran Sulaiman saat melepas ekspor manggis di Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Provinsi Sumatera Barat, Selasa (2/10).
"Indonesia hari ini mengekspor manggis perdana kontrak dengan China sebanyak 10 ribu ton, yang menarik, dari 10 eksportir, baru pertama kali ini dari Sumatera Barat sehingga perlu dicontoh daerah lain," kata Mentan Amran Sulaiman didampingi Wakil Gubernur Sumatera Barat, Nasrul Abdi; dan Bupati Irfendi Arbi.
Produksi manggis dari seluruh Sumatera pada 2017 mencapai 65.732 ton atau 40% dari produksi nasional, sementara prognosa nasional sekitar 166 ribu ton atau meningkat 3% dari 2017.
Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) menyatakan total nilai ekspor pertanian 2017 mencapai Rp442 triliun, naik 24% dari 2016 mendorong neraca perdagangan pertanian 2017 surplus Rp214 triliun.
"Kami imbau dilakukan gerakan masif ekspor dan investasi agar pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional semakin membaik. Terbukti, sektor pertanian menjadi salah satu penyumbang terbesar pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional," kata Mentan.
Wakil Gubernur Nasrul Abdi menegaskan pemerintah provinsi telah menetapkan delapan kabupaten dan kota sebagai sentra produksi manggis melalui SK Gubernur yakni Limapuluh Kota, Tanah Datar, Solok Selatan, Pesisir Selatan, Sijunjung, Padang Pariaman, Agam, dan Kota Padang.
"Kami minta binaan yang berkelanjutan dari Kementan, tidak hanya manggis tapi juga kopi agar dapat ekspor," kata Bupati Irfendi Arbi.

"Indonesia exports mangosteen to China 10 thousand tons, and for the first time from the West Sumatra province," said Minister Sulaiman was accompanied by Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Nasrul Abdi; and Regent Irfendi Arbi.
Mangosteen production across the Sumatra in 2017 reached 65,732 tons or 40% of national production, while the national prognosis is around 166 thousand tons or an increase of 3% from 2017.
The Central Statistics Agency stated that the total agricultural exports in 2017 reached IDR 442 trillion, up 24% from 2016 to encourage agricultural trade balance surplus of IDR214 trillion in 2017.
"We appeal to the massive export and investment movement to support national economic growth. The proof of agricultural sector is one of the biggest contributors to national economic growth," Minister Sulaiman said.
Deputy Governor Nasrul Abdi acknowledged that the provincial government had designated eight districts and cities as mangosteen production center through governor decree namely Limapuluh Kota, Tanah Datar, Solok Selatan, Pesisir Selatan, Sijunjung, Padang Pariaman, Agam, and Kota Padang.
"We request continuous support from the central government, not only mangosteen but also to support coffee exports, "said Regent Irfendi Arbi.
