Jakarta (B2B) - Balai Besar Karantina Pertanian Belawan melepas enam ton talas di Pelabuhan Belawan, Medan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, Jumat (6/4) setelah menjalani pemeriksaan standar of procedures (SOP) mulai dari pemeriksaan administrasi dan fisik, pengambilan sampel dan uji laboratorium, setelah dinyatakan sehat kemudian diterbitkan phytosanytari certificate (surat kesehatan tumbuhan) sebagai persyaratan ekspor negara tujuan diterbitkan.

"Enam ton talas dilepas untuk ekspor ke Malaysia setelah menjalani SOP karantina pertanian, setelah dinyatakan sehata maka dikeluarkan phytosanytari certificate," kata petugas Balai Besar Karantina Pertanian Belawan, Amos Sudin Silalahi melalui pernyataan tertulis.

Menurutnya, talas Indonesia diimpor oleh IWE yang dilakukan rutin setiap bulan, Karantina Belawan melakukan pendampingan proses ekspor dalam hal penjaminan kesehatan dan keamanan dari organisme pengganggu tumbuhan dan sesuai dengan izin pemasukan yang dipersyaratkan negara tujuan ekspor.

"Seiring perkembangan industri kuliner, talas tidak hanya dimakan setelah direbus atau digoreng, namun menjadi bahan baku makanan olahan seperti keripik, bubur, sayur lompong, buntil dan lain-lain dengan rasa yang banyak digemari," kata Kepala Subbagian Humas Badan Karantina Pertanian (Barantan) Kementerian Pertanian RI, Mochamad Arief Cahyono melalui pernyataan resmi Barantan.

Menurutnya, dari catatan data ekspor talas menunjukkan tren meningkat pada 2018 ketimbang 2017, dari 29.106 ton tahun lalu dan 1.106 ton hingga Maret 2018.

said the officer of Belawan's agricultural quarantine, Amos Sudin Silalahi through a written statement.

According to him, Indonesia taro imported by IWE regularly every month, the Belawan's agricultural quarantine oversees the export process in terms of health and safety assurance of plant pest organisms, and in accordance with the import permit required by the export destination country.

"As the culinary industry develops, taro is not only eaten after being boiled or fried, also processed as raw materials for processed foods such as chips, porridge, vegetable and others with a much-loved taste," said spokesman of Indonesian Agricultural Quarantine Agency or Barantan or IAQA, Mochamad Arief Cahyono through a written statement.

According to him, from the export data of taro exports showed an increasing trend in 2018 rather than 2017, from 29,106 tons last year and 1,106 tons until March 2018.
