Jakarta (B2B) - Pemerintah memastikan seluruh perusahaan perkebunan kelapa sawit pada 2014 sudah mendapat sertifikat International Sustainability Palm Oil (ISPO). Melalui sertifikasi ISPO maka upaya hilirisasi sawit menjadi bahan bakar nabati (BBN) akan meningkat.
"Pemerintah memandang penerapan ISPO sebagai langkah positif mendorong produksi BBN sekaligus antisipasi agar tidak dipermainkan pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan di Eropa dan Amerika Serikat," kata Menteri Pertanian Suswono kepada pers di Jakarta, belum lama ini.
Suswono menambahkan, sertifikasi ISPO menjadi kewajiban perusahaan perkebunan untuk melaksanakannya pada 2014 sekaligus mendukung upaya hilirisasi BBN.
"BBN merupakan mandatori pemerintah dalam upaya substitusi solar untuk menekan kebutuhan impor, sehingga volume defisit transaksi berjalan dapat ditekan serendah mungkin," ungkap Suswono.
Dia mengingatkan, pengusaha perkebunan kelapa sawit harus memenuhi syarat sertifikasi ISPO untuk dapat mengekspor produksi CPO ke pasaran dunia.

of Agriculture told reporters in Jakarta, recently.
Suswono
added, ISPO certification be mandatory palm oil companies to implement
in 2014 while supporting the efforts of downstream biofuel.
"BBN
is mandatory government in an effort to suppress the substitution of
diesel import needs, so that the volume of the current account deficit
can be reduce as low possible," said Suswono.
He reminded, oil palm planters should qualify ISPO certification, to qualify CPO exports to the world market.
