Jakarta (B2B) - Dunia pada tahun 2050 akan memerlukan tambahan pangan hingga 70% dan energi 36%, sehingga memerlukan cara penyediaan pangan dan energi tanpa merusak lingkungan. Dampaknya, permintaan akan pangan yang aman, bergizi, fungsional, lezat, convenient, kemasan ramah lingkungan melalui energi terbarukan akan meningkat.

Dalam upaya memenuhi kebutuhan masa depan ini,
Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian (Balitbang) Kementerian Pertanian dan Organisasi Pangan Dunia (Food and Agriculture Organization/FAO) mengadakan Konferensi Internasional Penanganan Produksi Pertanian Pascapanen di Jakarta, Selasa (19/11).

"Tujuan konferensi internasional ini untuk memperkenalkan dan mendiskusikan teknologi penanganan segar, dan pengolahan hasil pertanian yang baru dan canggih. Konferensi ini dihadiri oleh para peneliti dan akademisi lokal maupun internasional serta dari kalangan dunia usaha," kata Kepala (Balitbang) Kementan, Haryono kepada pers di Hotel Sultan Jakarta.

Empat topik menjadi bahasan utama konferensi ini, kata Haryono, yakni teknologi pascapanen dan pabrik makanan, teknologi pengolahan pangan, engineering dan safety, teknologi pengolahan limbah pertanian, manajemen pascapanen, kebijakan dan aturan yang diakhiri dengan kunjungan lapangan.

Sementara topik bahasan utama yang disampaikan keynote speech antara lain "Munculnya Sistem Rantai Makanan dalam Mengembangkan Agroindustri di Pedesaan, Pengolahan Hasil Produksi Pangan yang Aman dan Ramah Lingkungan, Analisa Kualitas Pangan tanpa Merusak, Pengemasan yang Baik dan Ramah Lingkungan, Makanan Halal: Pasar dan Regulasinya."

"Konferensi melalui pertemuan bisnis akan menawarkan teknologi bubuk kulit buah manggis, teknologi kopi luwak artifisial, teknologi sup instan, teknologi tempe koro pedang pengganti kedelai, teknologi stick test kit untuk determinasi kerusakan susu, teknologi kemasan ramah lingkungan (bio foam dari ampok jagung), dan formula wax coating untuk memperpanjang umur simpan buah," ungkap Haryono.

Haryono menambahkan, dalam rangkaian pelaksanaan konferensi, terdapat beberapa agenda yang cukup penting yaitu peluncuran perdana mangga ke Dubai, pembicaraan bilateral antara FAO dan Balitbang Kementan dan eksibisi mini.

Kepala Balai Besar Pascapanen Balitbang Kementan, Rudy Tjahjoutomo menambahkan, konferensi diikuti oleh peserta dari beberapa negara antara lain Jepang mengirimkan 10 orang delegasi, Korea (1), Belanda (1), Indonesia (64).

"Ke-64 orang peserta dari Indonesia terdiri atas peneliti dan mahasiswa dari IPB Bogor, Universitas Indonesia, ITB Bandung, UGM Yogyakarta, Unpad Bandung, Poltekes, Unpas Bandung, Swiss Germany University, Badan Tenaga Atom Nasional (Batan) dan Balitbang Kementan," ungkap Rudy.

"This international conference aims to introduce and discuss the handling of fresh technology, and the latest agricultural processing and sophisticated. The conference was attended by researchers and academics Indonesia, international, and business community," Head of IAARD, Haryono told reporters in Sultan Hotel Jakarta, today.

Four main topics at the conference, said Haryono, ie post-harvest technology and food factories, food processing technology, engineering and safety, agricultural waste treatment technologies, postharvest management, policy and regulation, which ended with a field trip.

While the main topic present by the keynote speakers "Emerging Food Chain System in Developing Rural Agroindustries, Plant factory: Environmentally Friendly Processing and Food Safety, Non-Destructive Quality Analysis, Active and Smart Packaging, Halal Food: Market and Regulation."

"In a business meeting, conference will offer technology mangosteen rind powder processing, artificial mongoose coffee technology, the technology of instant soup, tempe technology koro sword to substitute of soybean, stick technology test kit for determination of damage milk, environment friendly packaging technologies (bio foam from ampok corn), and the formula wax coating to extend the shelf life of fruit," Haryono said.

Haryono added, in a series of conferences, there are some important agenda is launching mango premiere export to Dubai, bilateral discussions between FAO and Head of IIARD and a mini exhibition.

Rudy Tjahjoutomo, Head of Postharvest IIARD added the conference was attended by participants from several countries such as Japan with the 10 participants, Korea (1), Netherlands (1), Indonesia (64).

"All 64 participants from Indonesia consists of researchers and university students of Bogor Agricultural University Bogor, Universitas Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, Padjadjaran University Bandung, Poltekes, Unpas Bandung, Switzerland Germany University, National Atomic Energy Agency (Batan) and IIARD," Tjahjoutomo said.
