Jakarta (B2B) - Alumni Sekolah Tinggi Penyuluh Pertanian (STPP) Malang jangan berharap menjadi pegawai negeri atau karyawan swasta, sebaiknya menjadi pengusaha agar mampu mendukung peningkatan produksi pertanian Indonesia dan meningkatkan daya saing terhadap produk impor.
Harapan tersebut dikemukakan Menteri Pertanian Suswono saat berkunjung ke STPP Malang pada Sabtu (30/11).
"Janganlah berharap menjadi pegawai negeri atau karyawan swasta, tapi jadilah pengusaha sehingga bisa menjembatani hubungan petani dengan pasar," kata Suswono.
Menurutnya, lulusan STPP berperan penting menjadi pengusaha untuk meningkatkan produksi pertanian, dan daya saing produk nasional terhadap produk impor khususnya menghadapi Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN 2015.
"Penyuluh alumni STPP harus memahami betul pasar sebulan kedepan, khususnya apa yang dibutuhkan pasar. Kemampuan menghadapi pasar tunggal ASEAN pada 2015 akan menentukan posisi Indonesia, sebagai produsen atau sekadar pasar dari produk impor," ungkap Suswono.

According to him, STPP graduates become entrepreneurs play an important role, to increase agricultural production, and national competitiveness against imported products, especially in anticipation of the ASEAN Economic Community by 2015.
"The agricultural extension of STPP should fully understand the next month eg market conditions, in particular what the market needs. Ability to face the ASEAN single market in 2015 will determine the position of Indonesia, as a producer or just the market of imported products," Suswono said.
