Jakarta (B2B) - Kementerian Pertanian memastikan persediaan sembilan bahan pokok (sembako) menjelang Ramadan tahun ini cukup tersedia bahkan surplus. Pasokan pangan strategis seperti beras, minyak goreng, daging unggas dan telur tergolong surplus. Sementara komoditas lain seperti daging, cabe rawit, dan bawang merah tersedia cukup.
Menteri Pertanian Suswono mengatakan pasokan pangan untuk Ramadan aman, namun tidak tertutup kemungkinan harga pangan melonjak apabila terjadi hambatan distribusi lantaran imbas dari kenaikan harga BBM bersubsidi.
"Komoditas seperti bawang merah dan cabe panennya mundur ke bulan Agustus, karena faktor cuaca, tapi dipastikan pasokannya mencukupi," katanya kepada pers di Kementerian Pertanian, Jakarta, Kamis (4/7).
Keterangan pers Menteri Pertanian Suswono didampingi Kepala Badan Ketahanan Pangan (BKP) Ahmad Suryana; Direktur Jenderal Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan, Syukur Iwantoro serta ketua asosiasi unggas.
Data Kementerian Pertanian menyebutkan, pada periode Juni hingga Agustus 2013, kebutuhan cabai mencapai 237.300 ton dengan produksi 281.600 ton. Kebutuhan cabai rawit pada periode yang sama tercatat sekitar 153 ribu ton dengan pasokan 166 ribu ton.
Impor Cabai
Untuk mencukupi kebutuhan cabai merah sebelum panen, Suswono menambahkan, pemerintah telah membuka peluang impor cabai, yang ditentukan dalam bentuk cabai bubuk untuk memenuhi kebutuhan industri.
“Pasokan cabai lokal agak terbatas, jadi kebutuhan industri diharapkan terpenuhi dari impor cabai bubuk sehingga cabai segar lokal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat,” ujarnya.
Komoditas lain yang pemenuhan kebutuhannya juga ditutup melalui impor adalah bawang merah. Sebelumnya pemerintah telah menerbitkan Surat Persetujuan Impor bawang merah segar sebanyak 16.781 ton.
"Pemerintah sudah memberikan rekomendasi impor bawang. Importir yang sudah mendapat izin impor harus merealisasikan bulan ini, karena Agustus akan panen. Kalau impornya di bulan Agustus akan menekan harga jual di tingkat petani," ungkap Mentan Suswono.

Data from the Ministry of Agriculture said that in the period June to August 2013, 237,300 tonnes of chilli needs, while production of 281,600 tonnes. Chili needs the same period recorded about 153 thousand tons, 166 thousand tons to supply.
Import chili
To meet the need of chili before harvest, Suswono added, government import open up opportunities chili, chili powder form that is determined to meet the needs of industry.

Other commodities whose needs are be fulfill through imports red onion. Earlier, the government has issued a Letter of Approval Imports of fresh red onions as much as 16,781 tons.
"The government has given a recommendation import onions. Importers who have got the import permit must realize this month, because August will harvest. If imports in August will reduce the selling price at the farm gate," said MoA Suswono.
