In less than two seconds, he disappears off the bow of the giant nuclear-powered carrier in a swirl of steam with only the bright orange glow of his engines visible in the darkness.

Commanders told DailyMail.com that almost 1,000 missions have been flown since July to kill ISIS fighters, destroy their fighting capability and support Iraqi and Syrian ground forces battling to destroy the Caliphate set up by the terror group.

He said the military operation was now in its second phase when ISIS's fighting capability will be dismantled.
