HIDUNG dari hiu sudah memberi kesan seram. Hewan laut buas ini malah didekati oleh pemotret bawah air, Daniel Botelho di lepas pantai Hawaii.
Daniel, 31, menggunakan kamera bawah laut untuk memotret aksi penyelam mendekati ikan hiu karang whitetip - tanpa dilengkapi pengaman tubuh.
Percikan air laut memperlihatkan sang hiu tampak seolah ingin menyerang dengan gerakan vertikal di bawah air.
Daniel dari Brasil mengaku: "Film The Jaws terlalu berlebihan sehingga kehadiran hiu dipahami secara salah," katanya seperti dilansir The Sun.
"Melalui foto saya ingin menunjukkan kepada orang bahwa menyelam dengan hiu adalah aman."
Hiu karang whitetip adalah spesies ramping dengan moncong pendek, tumpul yang dicirikan pada sirip putih.
Sebagai ikan nocturnal, mereka lebih banyak berada di sebuah gua sebelum keluar untuk makan di malam hari.
Mereka tergolong hiu yang kurang agresif kecuali diprovokasi. Meskipun begitu, pada 2008, catatan The International Shark Attack mencatat dua serangan akibat provokasi dan tiga serangan tanpa provokasi dari spesies ini.

The big fish got up close and personal with underwater snapper Daniel Botelho off the coast of Hawaii.
Daniel, 31, took his camera below the waves to capture shots of divers swimming with whitetip reef sharks – WITHOUT a cage for protection.
One of the splashing snaps shows a shark looking as though it was about to burst through the water vertically.
Daniel, from Brazil, said: “The movie Jaws created an over-reaction which led to sharks becoming misunderstood.
“Through my pictures I wanted to show people that it’s possible to dive safely with sharks.”
Whitetip reef sharks are a slender species with a short, blunt snout and are distinguished by their white-tipped fins.
And as a nocturnal fish, they will spend much of their day in a cave before going out to eat at night.
They are said to be seldom aggressive unless provoked. However, as of 2008, the International Shark Attack File lists two provoked and three unprovoked attacks by this species.
