Jakarta (B2B) - Harga bawang dan cabai dipediksi kembali normal pada April. Wakil Menteri Perdagangan Bayu Krisnamurthi mengatakan, kecenderungan selama empat sampai lima tahun terakhir, harga bawang dan cabai selalu tinggi di bulan pertama.

Puncaknya di bulan ketiga yakni Maret dan memasuki bulan April harga kembali normal. "Secara historis, harga bawang dan cabe bulan Maret cenderung tinggi. April dan Mei cenderung turun," kata Bayu Krisnamurthi di Jakarta, Selasa (2/4).

Merujuk pada data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), kata Bayu, inflasi di bulan Maret mencapai 0,63% dan 80,9% inflasi disebabkan oleh bahan makanan. Apabila dikombinasikan komoditas bawang merah, bawang putih, cabai, dan berkontribusi 38% terhadap inflasi bahan makanan.

Bayu melihat kecenderungan selama 4-5 tahun terakhir, harga bawang dan cabe selalu tinggi di tiga bulan pertama. Puncaknya ada di bulan ketiga. Memasuki bulan April, harga sudah kembali turun.

"Pada Maret, harga cabe merah rata-rata sekitar Rp25 ribu. Harga ini rata-rata sama dengan harga di tahun 2011 dan 2012. Harga cabe rawit sekitar Rp35.000, cukup rendah dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya yang pernah mencapai Rp55 ribu," ungkap Wakil Mendag.
