Bogor (B2B) - Menteri Pertanian Suswono mengunjungi sentra produksi cabai di kawasan Caringin, Bogor, Jawa Barat, yang memiliki luas lahan tiga hektar dan memasuki panen ketiga. Sementara di Cisaat, Sukabumi ada sedikitnya 50,5 hektar tanaman cabai siap panen menjelang akhir Maret dan awal April.
Ketua Kelompok Tani Tangkil di Caringin, Bogor, Agus mengatakan kepada Mentan Suswono bahwa harga cabai rawit merah masih tergolong mahal sekitar Rp12 ribu hingga Rp14 ribu per kg.
"Di tingkat petani Bogor, harga cabai merah keriting di akhir pekan sekitar Rp15 ribu per kg. Harga cabai rawit merah masih mahal, karena petani memetiknya ketika masih hijau," kata Agus kepada Mentan Suswono.
"Saat ini, memang panen baru terjadi, diharapkan April dan Mei sudah optimal lagi produksinya," kata Menteri.
Usai melakukan kunjungan ke petani, Mentan juga meninjau kondisi pasokan dan harga cabai di Pasar Induk Warung Jambu Bogor, harga cabai bervariasi tergantung jenisnya seperti cabai merah kriting Rp15 ribu per kg.
Harga cabai hijau kriting Rp14 ribu per kg, cabai rawit hijau Rp16 ribu cabai rawit hijau, Sedang cabai merah kriting Rp20 ribu dan cabai rawit merah Rp35 ribu hingga Rp42 ribu tergantung mutunya.
Para pedagang mengaku pasokan cabai dari petani masih lancar meski harganya sedikit naik karena panen terganggu musim hujan.
"Karena mekanisme pasar produk hortikultura ini tidak diatur seperti di Bulog, sehingga ada celah yang menganggu sistem pemasaran membuat kenaikan harga kerap sulit dikendalikan," tambah Mentan.

After a visit to the farmers, Minister of Agriculture also inspected the condition of the supply and price of chili in the the Parent Market Warung Jambu Bogor, prices vary depending on the type chili, red chili curly Rp15 thousand per kilogram.
