Impor Hortikultura akan Dikenai Bea Masuk, kata Wakil Menkeu

Jakarta (B2B) - Pemerintah berencana mengenakan tarif bea masuk untuk impor hortikultura. Langkah itu sebagai solusi dari pengetatan impor untuk melindungi kepentingan petani. Pasalnya, pembatasan impor tidak harus melalui pembatasan kuota yang memicu masalah, sehingga tarif bea masuk akan membuat harga produksi hasil panen petani mampu bersaing.
Wakil Menteri Keuangan, Mahendra Siregar menegaskan pengenaan tarif bea masuk akan mendorong kepastian pasokan produk hortikultura. Dari sisi makro ekonomi, tingkat inflasi dapat dijaga karena harga pangan stabil.
"Pembatasan impor tidak selalu harus melalui pemberian kuota yang malahan memicu persoalan kelangkaan pasokan. Banyak solusi lain, salah satunya mengenakan tarif bea masuk," kata Mahendra kepada pers di kantor Menteri Koordinator Perekonomian di Jakarta, Kamis (4/4).
Mahendra optimistis, langkah pengenaan tarif bea masuk akan mendorong kepastian pasokan pangan. "Tidak perlu lagi ada kepanikan dan mendorong inflasi."

Mahendra optimistic, step imposition duty tariff will encourage food supply security. "There is no need to panic that drives inflation."
