Subang, Jawa Barat (B2B) - Legislator Senayan mengapresiasi Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Balitbang) Kementerian Pertanian yang tiada henti melakukan inovasi terhadap benih padi unggulan, khususnya Padi Jajar Legowo (Jarwo Super) yang dapat bertahan dari segala cuaca dan tahan terhadap hama wereng.
Apresiasi tersebut dikemukakan Wakil Ketua Komisi IV DPR, Herman Khaeron yang menjadi 'tamu khusus' Kepala Balitbang Kementan, Muhammad Syakir pada kegiatan panen benih sebar Padi Jarwo Super di Balai Besar Penelitian Padi (BB Padi) di Desa Sukasari, Kecamatan Sukasari, Kabupaten Subang, Provinsi Jawa Barat pada Selasa (22/11).
"Produksi padi di tingkat nasional, maka Jawa Barat tergolong yang tertinggi, dan hal ini harus ditopang dengan inovasi bibit unggul, sistem pemupukan dan pengairan yang baik sehingga menjadi daerah penghasil pangan tertinggi," kata Herman Khaeron, politisi Partai Demokrat.
Dia mengharapkan Kabupaten Subang dan kabupaten lain di Jawa Barat dapat menerapkan irigasi teknis dan bisa diterapkan di daerah lain di Indonesia, sehingga dapat mendukung peningkatan produksi padi nasional.
Tampak hadir Kepala Badan Karantina Pertanian (Barantan) Banun Harpini yang juga ketua tim upaya khusus padi, jagung, kedelai (Upsus Pajale) Jawa Barat; Kepala BB Padi Sukamandi, Ismail Wahab; Kepala Badan Pengkajian Teknologi Pangan (BPTP) Jawa Barat, Liferdi; Asisten Teritorial Pangdam III/Siliwangi, Kolonel Inf Oloan Parulian Sianturi; Kepala Dinas Tanaman Pangan Kabupaten Subang, Endang Sutarsa; Komandan Kodim (Dandim) 0605/ Subang Letkol Inf Budi Mawardi Syam.
Penelitian Dua Tahun
Kepala Balitbang Kementan M Syakir mengatakan pihaknya sudah dua tahun fokus mengembangkan modernisasi pertanian, dengan menghasilkan inovasi-inovasi terbaru terhadap benih unggulan.
"Sejak dua tahun terakhir ini, Kementan konsentrasi terhadap pengembangan benih padi unggulan," kata Syakir.
Benih padi Jarwo Super tersebut antara lain Inpari 30, Inpari 32, Inpari 33, Ciherang, dan Ciherang 600. Spesifikasi utama Inpari 30 antara lain tinggi tanaman 124,2 cm, waktu panen 111 - 115 hari setelah tanam (HST). Spesifikasi benih Inpari 32: tinggi tanaman 123,8, waktu panen 111 - 115 HST. Tinggi tanaman Inpari 33 maksimal 120,6 cm dengan waktu panen 107 - 115 HST.
Sementara jenis benih Ciherang antara lain tinggi tanaman 113,8 cm, umur panen 116 - 125 HST dan Ciherang 600 dengan tinggi tanaman 137,2 cm, umur panen 110 - 125 HST.
"Benih Inpari 30 merupakan varietas amfibi yang tahan terhadap air meski daunnya terendam berhari-hari," kata Syakir.
"Teknologi ini memanfaatkan benih bermutu dengan potensi hasil tinggi, biodekomposer pada saat pengolahan tanah, pupuk hayati sebagai seed treatment dan pemupukan berimbang, pengendalian organisme pengganggu tanaman secara terpadu, serta penggunaan alat mesin pertanian terutama untk tanam dan panen," katanya lagi.
Menurutnya, dari analisis usaha tani menunjukkan bahwa teknologi Jarwo Super sangat layak dikembangkan pada skala luas.

He expects Subang district and other districts in West Java province can implement technical irrigation and can be implemented in other regions in Indonesia, so it can support the improvement of national rice production.

Research Two Years
Mr Syakir said the IAARD it had been two years focus on developing agricultural modernization, with the latest result of superior seeds of technological innovation.
"During past two years, the IAARD concentration on the development of superior seeds," he said.
the Jajar Legowo Super paddy seed Inpari 30 Inpari 32, Inpari 33, Ciherang, and Ciherang 600. Specifications of Inpari 30 is 124.2 cm plant height, harvest time 111-115 days after planting. Specification of Inpari 32: 123.8 plant height, harvest time 111-115 days after planting. Specification of Inpari 33: plant height 120.6 cm and harvest time 107-115 days after planting.
While the height of Ciherang is 113.8 cm and harvest time 116-125 days after planting, and height of Ciherang 600 is 137,2 cm and harvest time 107-115 days after planting.
Inpari 30 seed is an amphibian varieties that are resistant to water although the leaves are submerged in water for days," Mr Syakir said.
"The technology utilizes quality seed with the potential for high production yields, biodekomposer during tillage, biological fertilizers as a seed treatment and balanced fertilization, control of plant pests integrated, and utilize agricultural machinery for planting and the harvest," he said.
According to him, based on analysis of demfarm seen that Jarwo Super very feasible to be developed on broad scale.
