Subang, Jawa Barat (B2B) - Kementerian Pertanian RI akan mengembangkan benih sebar varietas padi Jajar Legowo (Jarwo) Super untuk mendukung penyebaran benih sumber di setiap sentra produsen padi, untuk mengantisipasi mahalnya biaya transportasi sehingga tercapai kemandirian benih  minimal di 10 provinsi.

"Kementan berupaya melakukan lompatan inovasi dari penerapan teknologi budidaya padi Jarwo Super karena disinyalir adanya perlambatan hasil inovasi teknologi dengan penyebaran benih sumber," kata Kepala Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Balitbang) Kementan, Muhammad Syakir di Subang, Provinsi Jawa Barat pada Selasa (22/11).

Menurutnya, Balitbang Kementan telah mendapat 'lampu hijau' dari Menteri Pertanian Andi Amran Sulaiman dengan terbitnya Peraturan Mentan, yang mengizinkan pihaknya untuk mengembangkan benih sebar, dengan produksi benih padi secara masif akan memperbesar peluang petani memperoleh varietas benih padi unggul.

Balitbang Kementan juga telah berkoordinasi dengan Direktorat Jenderal Tanaman Pangan, menurut Syakir, pencapaian peningkatan produksi bukan hanya bertumpu pada hasil, namun tidak mengabaikan penyebaran benih sumber di setiap sentra produsen padi.

"Biaya transportasi mahal, hal itu kami antisipasi dengan membentuk kawasan mandiri benih 10.000 hektar yang akan mengadopsi teknologi budidaya padi Jarwo Super di 10 provinsi yang merupakan sentra produksi beras, yang akan dilakukan serentak mulai tahun depan," kata Syakir pada kegiatan panen benih sebar Padi Jarwo Super di Balai Besar Penelitian Padi (BB Padi) di Desa Sukasari, Kecamatan Sukasari, Kabupaten Subang, Provinsi Jawa Barat pada Selasa (22/11) yang dihadiri Wakil Ketua Komisi IV DPR, Herman Khaeron.

Ke-10 provinsi dimaksud adalah Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, Sumatera Barat, Sumatera Utara, Sumatera Selatan, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), Sulawesi Selatan, dan Sulawesi Utara.

Demfarm Padi
Teknologi budidaya padi Jarwo Super adalah perbaikan dari teknologi budidaya padi Jarwo yang hanya bertumpu pada pengaturan jarak tanam padi, sementara adopsi teknologi Jarwo Super juga mencakup pengendalian organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT) dengan pestisida nabati dan kimia berdasarkan ambang kendali, dan adaptif dengan mesin penanam padi (transplanter) dan mesin panen kombinasi (combine harvester).

Varietas padi Super Jarwo Inpari 30, Ciherang sub 1, Inpari 32 HDB, Inpari 33 , dan Inpari 43 Agritan GSR dan satu varietas hibrida yakni Hipa Jatim 2.

Balitbang Kementan telah melakukan demfarm atau demonstrasi farming dengan petani di Indramayu, hasil produksi padi Jarwo Super mencapai lebih 13 ton gabah kering panen (GKP) per hektar, sementara rata-rata produktivitas nasional hanya 5,28 ton GKP per hektar.

Kegiatan Demfarm merupakan metode percontohan yang dilaksanakan oleh kelompok tani padi dan Demfarm sejenis telah dirintis di 14 provinsi, dan tahun depan Balitbang Kementan sudah menyiapkan benih varietas padi sebesar 250 ton yang dihasilkan dari gelar teknologi.

"Sesuai moto Demfarm adalah learning by doing and learning by seeing merupakan upaya pemberdayaan dan pembelajaran petani untuk penerapan teknologi padi yang sudah teruji agar mereka mampu memanfaatkan potensi yang dimiliki untuk meningkatkan produksi dan produktivitas padi," kata Syakir.

Subang, Jawa Barat (B2B) - Indonesian Agriculture Ministry will developing rice cultivation technology locally known as the Jajar Legowo Super paddy abbreviated the Jarwo Super paddy in rice production centers,  to anticipate transportation costs that are expected to create self-sufficiency of seed in 10 provinces.

"The ministry seeks to breakthrough innovations in cultivation technology of the Jarwo Super paddy to improve distribution of seed varieties source of our innovation," Director General of Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD), Muhammad Syakir told the press here.

According to him, the IAARD has got the 'green light' of Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman through the ministerial regulations, which gave permission development of seedlings for distribution to mass produce rice seeds, and massively increases the chances of farmers to obtain superior varieties.

The IAARD  have also coordinated with the Directorate General of Food Crops, according to Mr Syakir, because of increased production not only by the increased crop yields, but the main priority is to distribute seed source to any rice production centers in Indonesia.

"The high cost of transportation, we anticipate developing independent region of 10,000 hectares superior seed which will apply Jarwo Super cultivation technology in 10 provinces, which is a center of rice production in the country, which will begin next year," Mr Syakir said in Subang's Indonesian Center for Rice Research (ICRR) in Sukasari village of Sukasari subdistrict, Subang district of West Java province on Tuesday (11.22.16) which was attended by Deputy Chairman of House's Commission IV, Herman Khaeron.

10 provinces are Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), South Sulawesi, and North Sulawesi.

Rice Demfarm
Technology rice cultivation of Jarwo Super paddy is the technological improvement of rice cultivation Jarwo paddy that only relies on spacing of rice, while the technology adoption Jarwo Super paddy also include the control of plant pests (OPT) with botanical pesticides and chemical based threshold control, and adaptive with transplanter and combine harvester.

Rice varieties for Super Jarwo such as  Inpari 30, Ciherang sub 1, Inpari 32 HDB, Inpari 33, and Inpari 43 Agritan GSR and one hybrid varieties namely Hipa Jatim 2.

The IAARD have done demfarm or demonstration farming with farmers in Indramayu, Jarwo Super rice production reached over 13 tons of dry grain harvest (GKP) per hectare, while the average national productivity of GKP only 5.28 tonnes per hectare.

Demfarm is a method of pilot activities undertaken by rice farmer groups and similar steps have been initiated in 14 provinces, and the next year IAARD have prepared as much as 250 tons of seed varieties generated of technology application activities.

"In accordance Demfarm motto is learning by doing and learning by seeing and learning is empowering farmers to implement rice technology that has been proven so that they can exploit their potential to increase production and paddy productivity," Mr Syakir said.
