Jakarta (B2B) - Pemerintah RI menegaskan komitmennya untuk menjadi negara yang berdaulat di bidang pangan, dengan potensi pangan lokal maka Presiden RI Joko Widodo meyakini bahwa Indonesia mampu memenuhi kebutuhan pangan dari produksi dalam negeri tanpa tergantung pada produk impor.

"Dengan potensi pertanian dan kekuatan rakyat yang sangat besar, maka Presiden Jokowi menetapkan kebijakan bahwa Indonesia harus menjadi negara yang berdaulat di bidang pangan," kata Menteri Pertanian RI, Andi Amran Sulaiman dalam pidato arahannya pada  peringatan Hari Krida Pertanian di Jakarta, Senin (23/6).

Menteri Amran menekankan pentingnya memperkuat penganekaragaman pangan berdasarkan kearifan lokal di seluruh Indonesia sebagai bagian dari upaya memenuhi kebutuhan pangan rakyat.

"Ke depan, penting keanekaragaman pangan, sebagai  suatu kearifan lokal yang perlu kita perkuat. Di Nusa Tenggara Timur, Papua, perbatasan Indonesia-Malaysia, dan sebagainya masih lebih cenderung mengonsumsi makanan pokok khasnya ketimbang beras," kata Amran Sulaiman.

Hari Krida Pertanian 2015 dihadiri Sekretaris Jenderal Kementerian Pertanian, Hari Priyono, para pejabat eselon satu hingga empat dan seluruh PNS di lingkungan kementerian.

Jakarta (B2B) - The Indonesian government affirmed its commitment to become a sovereign country food, and Indonesian President Joko Widodo believed to developing the potential of local food so Indonesia would able to meet the food needs of domestic production without depending on imported products.

"Given the potential of agriculture, and population, President Widodo set policies that Indonesia should be the sovereign state of food," said Indonesian Agriculture Minister, Andi Amran Sulaiman in his speech commemorate the Day of Agriculture here on Monday (23/6).

Minister Sulaiman stressed the importance of strengthening the diversification of food based on local wisdom from across Indonesia as part of efforts to meet the food needs of the people.

"In the future, the diversity of food is very important to strengthen local knowledge. For example, in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Papua province, Indonesia and Malaysia border, and other areas choose local specific food than rice," he said.

Also present at memorial ceremony the Secretary General of Agriculture Ministry, Hari Priyono, the first to fourth echelon officials, and all civil servants in the ministry.
