Jakarta (B2B) - Partai Demokrat akan mengambil sikap independen dalam pemerintahan presiden terpilih. SBY juga membantah jika partainya akan bergabung dengan PDIP.
"Supaya tidak penasaran, begini saja. saya berfikir partai politik yang saya pimpin lebih baik independen," kata Ketua Umum Partai Demokrat Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) seperti dikutip dari akun Youtube, Jumat.
SBY beralasan, Partai Demokrat tidak akan masuk ke koalisi pemerintahan, karena partainya akan lebih baik menjadi penyeimbang di pemerintahan.
"Kami lebih baik menjadi kekuatan penyeimbang dan independen dengan tidak masuk ke koalisi permanen Prabowo maupun ke Jokowi," ujarnya.

"I think the political party which I lead had better become independent and a stabilizing force, instead of joining one of the coalitions, be it of Parabowo or of Joko Widodo. Thats the decision of the party that I lead," PD General Chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyhono said on a YouTube video uploaded on his Twitter account on Thursday.
It was earlier reported that the Democratic Party has expressed its support to the Prabowo-Hatta presidential and vice presidential candidate duo.
The PD officially declared its support for the Prabowo-Hatta ticket through its executive chairman Syarief Hasan at a press conference at the PD office on June 30, 2014.
