Jakarta (B2B) - Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, calon presiden yang diusung Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP) memberi isyarat bahwa calon wakil presidennya bakal berasal dari luar Pulau Jawa.
Hal tersebut diakui Gubernur DKI Jakarta ketika menjawab pertanyaan pers tentang sosok ideal calon wakil presiden yang bakal mendampinginya dalam Pemilu Presiden pada 9 Juli 2014.
"Saya dari mana?," tanya Jokowi kepada para wartawan.
"Dari Solo, Jawa Tengah," jawab para wartawan.
"Ya itu berarti dari luar (Jawa)," timpal Jokowi.
Namun, saat dikonfirmasi apakah sosok yang dimaksud adalah Jusuf Kalla, yang berasal dari Sulawesi, Jokowi hanya tertawa. Dia justru mengatakan bahwa latar belakang suku sebenarnya bukan menjadi faktor penentu penentuan cawapresnya.
Nama mantan presiden Jusuf Kalla memang santer diberitakan sebagai salah satu kandidat terkuat pendamping Jokowi. Meski demikian, Jokowi sendiri hingga kini belum mau mengumumkan sosok cawapresnya tersebut.
"Namanya tinggal diumumkan. Antara tanggal 9 sampai 14," kata Jokowi.

"Yes. It means that the VP will come from outside (Java)," Jokowi answered.
However, when he was asked if the figure was Jusuf Kalla who came from Makassar, South Sulawesi, the Jakarta governor just laughed. He said that an ethnic was actually not main factor to determine his running mate.
Jusuf Kalla is widely reported as one of strongest candidates for Jokowi's pair. However, former Solo mayor has not yet ready to announce the VP name. He will announce it officially May 9-14, 2014.
