Jakarta (B2B) - Suzuki Motor Corp, prinsipal otomotif asal Jepang, siap merealisasikan investasi US$1 miliar untuk pengembangan pabrik kendaraan dan komponen otomotif di Bekasi, Jawa Barat. Proses konstruksi pabrik tersebut hingga kini sudah sekitar 25%.
Presiden Komisaris PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk mengatakan, pabrik berkapasitas 150 ribu unit per tahun itu sebagian di antaranya akan digunakan untuk memproduksi mobil low cost and green car (LCGC).
"Saat ini Suzuki sudah merealisasikan konstruksi pembangunan pabrik baru dan sudah separuh jalan, mungkin kuartal I tahun depan sudah bisa produksi," kata Soebronto Laras.
Indomobil merupakan agen pemegang merek sejumlah merek otomotif seperti Suzuki, Nissan, Hino dan sebagainya.
