Jokowi mengingatkan agar pejabat daerah menghindari realisasi anggaran pada pertengahan tahun bahkan pada September dan Oktober. “Jangan yang lama diteruskan, September, Oktober pas hujan datang malah membangun."
Sebelumnya diberitakan, Presiden RI Joko Widodo mengingatkan kepada para kepala daerah untuk saling memperkuat hingga akhir masa jabatannya, dengan merangkul lawan-lawan politik dalam pemilihan kepala daerah (Pilkada), karena kinerjanya ditunggu oleh rakyat yang telah memberikan kepercayaan sebagai pemimpin rakyat.
“Bertarung itu lima tahun sekali, jangan bertarung terus. Nanti rakyat dapat apa. Saya tahu kok, saya dengar. Jangan begitu, ingat kerja nyata kita sebagai pemimpin ditunggu rakyat,” kata Jokowi.
