Jakarta (B2B) - Presiden RI Joko Widodo mengaku telah mempertimbangkan rekam jejak dan kompetensi sebelum menunjuk Letjen TNI (Purn) Sutiyoso sebagai Kepala Badan Intelejen Negara (KaBIN) menggantikan Letjen (Purn) Marciano Norman.
“Saya juga sudah melalui banyak pertimbangan dan memperhatikan baik rekam jejak maupun kompetensi dari Pak Sutiyoso,” kata Presiden Jokowi di kediamannya di Solo, Jawa Tengah belum lama ini.
Pengajuan Sutiyono itu sesuai dengan amanat UU Nomor 17/2011 tentang Intelijen Negara, khususnya Pasal 36.
Presiden Jokowi menjabarkan pertimbangannya mengajukan Sutiyoso sebagai Kepala BIN karena rekam jejaknya di dunia intelejen dan militer.
Presiden meyakini, pengalaman Sutiyoso di ketentaraan, intelijen dan sipil akan sangat membantu penugasan barunya sebagai Kepala BIN, terutama dalam deteksi dini adanya ancaman terhadap stabilitas keamanan.
Dia menambahkan, menghadapi tantangan bangsa yang semakin kompleks, Indonesia membutuhkan aparat intelijen yang professional dan bekerja dengan cara-cara modern sesuai lingkup undang-undang.
Selain pernah menjabat sebagai Gubernur DKI selama dua periode, Sutiyoso juga pernah menjadi Danrem Bogor (terbaik), Kasdam Jaya, dan Pangdam Jaya, seperti dilansir Setkab.

President believes, Mr Sutiyoso experience in the army, intelligence, and civil will greatly help his new assignment as head of BIN, especially in the early detection of threats to security and stability.
Widodo said, facing the challenge of the nation, which is increasingly complex, Indonesia needs a professional intelligence apparatus and work with modern ways accordance with the provisions of the law.
In addition he served as Governor of DKI during two periods, Mr. Sutiyoso also been a Bogor Military Resort Commander (the best), Chief of staff of the Jakarta Military Command and Jakarta Military Commander.
