Manggarai Barat, NTT [B2B] - Presiden RI Joko Widodo [Jokowi] mengajak dunia usaha untuk berkolaborasi untuk mewujudkan ASEAN sebagai pusat pertumbuhan atau epicentrum of growth.
Hal tersebut disampaikan Presiden Jokowi saat memimpin pertemuan ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of ASEAN-Business Advisory Council [BAC], di Hotel Meruorah, Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Rabu (10/5).
"Mari bergandengan erat menyusun agenda bersama, untuk memastikan kawasan ini terus menjadi epicentrum of growth," ujar Presiden.
Menurut Jokowi, kolaborasi, kerja sama, dan sinergi yang terjalin antara pemerintah dan dunia usaha telah membawa ASEAN untuk mampu menghadapi pandemi COVID-19.
Kolaborasi dan sinergi tersebut, lanjutnya, juga sangat diperlukan dalam menghadapi tantangan yang masih sangat berat, risiko geopolitik yang masih besar, serta berjatuhannya lembaga keuangan di Amerika Serikat dan Eropa.
"Dalam situasi ini, kita harus semakin memperkuat kolaborasi untuk menjaga ASEAN sebagai epicentrum of growth," ujarnya.
Jokowi pun meyakini, ASEAN memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk menjadi pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi.
"Potensi ekonomi kawasan kita sangat besar, ekonomi yang tumbuh di atas rerata dunia, bonus demografi, kemudian middle class yang terus meningkat 65% pada tahun 2030," tandasnya.

This was conveyed by President Jokowi while chairing the ASEAN Leaders' Interface with Representatives of ASEAN-Business Advisory Council [BAC] meeting, at the Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, Wednesday (10/5).
"Let's work closely together to formulate a common agenda, to ensure that this region continues to be the epicenter of growth," said the President.
According to Jokowi, the collaboration, cooperation and synergy that exists between the government and the business world has brought ASEAN to be able to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
Collaboration and synergy, he continued, are also very much needed in facing the challenges that are still very heavy, geopolitical risks that are still large, and the collapse of financial institutions in the United States and Europe.
