Jakarta (B2B) - Mahfud MD, mantan Ketua Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) mengaku pernah Ketua MK nonaktif, Akil Mochtar, kepada Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK). Namun hingga jabatannya berakhir sebagai Ketua MK. KPK belum menyampaikan ada dugaan korupsi atau tidak. Padahal laporan itu disampaikannya sejak tiga tahun lalu.
"Makanya, saya katakan kalau salama saya menjadi Ketua MK, hakim konstitusi bersih," kata Mahfud ketika ditemui di kompleks parlemen, Senayan Jakarta, Kamis (10/10).
Mahfud menceritakan pelaporan itu bermula ketika pakar hukum tata negara, Refly Harun, mengatakan bila ada ´permainan uang´ di MK. Ketika Mahfud mendesak Refly, nama hakim korup itu tidak disebutkan. Setelah itu, Mahfud menunjuk Refly sebagai ketua tim investigasi untuk menemukan adanya penyimpangan di MK.
"Setelah terima laporan, langsung saya bawa ke KPK," kata Mahfud.
Karena tak ada penindakan, Mahfud merasa hakim konstitusi masih bersih. Dia kaget ketika koleganya, Akil Mochtar, tertangkap tangan oleh KPK. Perkara yang menjerat Akil yakni sengketa pilkada Gunung Mas, Kalimantan Tengah; dan Lebak, Banten; kata Mahfud, ketika dia tak lagi menjadi hakim konstitusi.
Ketua Mahkamah Konstitusi Akil Mochtar ditangkap KPK di rumah dinasnya di kawasan Perumahan Widya Chandra, Jakarta Selatan, pada Kamis pekan lalu. Bersama Akil, turut diciduk seorang anggota DPR dari Golkar, Chairun Nisa; Bupati Gunung Mas, Kalimantan Tengah, Hambit Bintih; Tubagus Chairi Wardana alias Wawan, yang juga adik Gubernur Banten Ratu Atut Chosiyah; advokat Susi Tur Andayani; serta pengusaha asal Palangkaraya, Cornelis Nalau.
Jakarta (B2B) - Former Constitutional Court (MK) chief justice Mahfud MD said he once reported ex-MK chief justice Akil Mochtar to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). But to the end of his reign, he added, the KPK had yet to notify him on the results of its investigation into Akil. He said he reported Akil to the KPK three years ago.
“That’s why I said that during my tenure as the MK chief justice, all constitutional justices were clean,” Mahfud said at the House complex in Senayan on Thursday (10/10).
Mahfud said he reported Akil to the KPK after law pundit Refly Harun told him of alleged corruption at the MK. However, he added, Refly refused to reveal the name of the judge involved in the corruption. Mahfud later asked Refly to spearhead a team to investigate corruption at the MK.
“After I received the reports, I brought them to the KPK,” he said.
Mahfud said the absence of feedback from the KPK had convinced him the MK was sterile from corruption. Mahfud said he was shocked at the arrest of his successor, Akil Mochtar, for alleged involvement in the graft-tainted regional elections in Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan; and Lebak, Banten.
The KPK arrested former MK chief justice Akil Mochtar at his official residence at the Widya Chandra housing complex in South Jakarta last Thursday. Besides Akil, the KPK also nabbed Golkar Party lawmaker Chairun Nisa, Gunung Mas Regent Hambit Bintih, Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah’s younger brother Tubagus Chairi Wardana alias Wawan, lawyer Susi Tur Andayani, and a businessman from Palangkaraya named Cornelis Nalau.
