Jakarta (B2B) - Sekitar 628 orang tewas akibat kecelakaan lalu lintas di seluruh Indonesia selama Operasi Ketupat pada H-7 hingga H+7 (10-24 Juli 2015) Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1436 H, menurut catatan Kepolisian RI (Polri).

"Jumlah korban meninggal dunia selama Operasi Ketupat hingga H+7 Lebaran mencapai 628 orang," kata Kepala Biro Penerangan Masyarakat Polri, Brigjen Agus Rianto di Jakarta pada Sabtu.

Dia menambahkan, menurut catatan Polri sejak diselenggarakannya Operasi Ketupat 2015 telah terjadi 2.985 kasus kecelakaan yang mengakibatkan 628 korban tewas, 1.028 orang luka berat dan 3.808 orang luka ringan.

"Jumlah kecelakaan pada H+7 turun 52 persen, jumlah korban tewas turun 64 persen dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun lalu," kata Agus Rianto.

Dalam menjamin keamanan dan kelancaran kegiatan mudik dan Idul Fitri 1436 HijriYah, sebanyak 82.538 personel Polri dikerahkan dalam Operasi Ketupat 2015 yang berlangsung 16 hari pada 10-25 Juli 2015.

Polri mengerahkan 82.538 personel didukung 12.761 prajurit TNI dan 50.377 orang dari instansi-instansi sehingga total kekuatan personel yang dikerahkan dalam Operasi Ketupat 2015 mencapai 145.676 orang. Mereka dikerahkan di 3.030 pos pengamanan dan 1.083 pos pelayanan pada jalur mudik di seluruh Indonesia.

Jakarta (B2B) - Indonesian National Police or Polri declared that traffic accidents that occurred across the country  during the Eid exodus resulted in 628 fatalities, according to a spokesman for the police.

"The number of casualties during the Eid holiday seasons held till Day+7 of Eid al Fitr reached 628 people," said Brigadier General Agus Rianto, a spokesman for the Polri headquarters here on Saturday.

The police launched the traffic operation on July 10, which was seven days before or D-7 the Eid, it will be held till July 25, seven days after (D+7) the holiday.

As many as 2,985 cases of traffic accidents took place, claiming 628 lives, seriously injuring 1,028 people and slightly wounding 3,808 others.

However, the number of traffic accidents declined four percent from that in the same period of last year. In addition, fatalities decreased eight percent; the number of people who sustained serious injuries dropped by 0.1 percent; and the number of people who suffered minor injuries reduced by three percent.

On D+7 alone, there were 97 cases of traffic accidents, wherein 16 were killed, 26 sustained serious injuries and 86 received minor ones.

"The number of cases of traffic accidents dropped 52 percent, while the number of fatalities decreased 64 percent as compared to that in the same period last year," Mr Rianto said.

During the 16-day operation, 82,538 police personnel were deployed, and besides them, 12,761 military personnel and 50,377 personnel from other institutions were fielded.

In total, 145,676 personnel were deployed for the operation in 3,030 security posts and 1,083 public service posts that were established along the routes that would be taken by travelers during the exodus.
