Deli Serdang, Sumut [B2B] - Presiden RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi) meresmikan pabrik percontohan minyak makan merah Pagar Merbau, di Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara, Kamis [14/3] pagi.
Peresmian pabrik minyak pakan merah pertama di Indonesia tersebut menandai langkah maju dalam industri kelapa sawit nasional dan pemberdayaan petani sekaligus meningkatkan nilai tambah industri sawit.
"Kita ingin nilai tambah itu ada di dalam negeri. Oleh sebab itu, kita bangun pabrik minyak makan merah ini yang pertama kali dan ini kita harapkan dapat memberikan nilai tambah yang baik bagi para petani sawit, utamanya yang sudah dalam bentuk koperasi. Jadi harga TBS [tandan buah segar] tidak naik dan turun, karena di sini semuanya diolah menjadi barang jadi, yaitu minyak makan merah," ujar Jokowi.
Jokowi menjelaskan, Indonesia memiliki 5,3 juta hektare kebun kelapa sawit dengan 40,5 persen atau 6,2 juta hektare di antaranya dimiliki oleh petani sawit. Produksi minyak makan merah ini diyakini Presiden dapat meningkatkan daya saing produk petani sawit dalam negeri.
"Harga minyak makan merah ini lebih murah dari minyak goreng yang ada di pasaran. Artinya, barang ini bisa bersaing di pasar, bisa bersaing dan harganya kompetitif," ujarnya.
Selain itu, kata Jokowi, kandungan Vitamin A dan Vitamin E dalam minyak makan merah juga terjaga. Hal ini, menurut Jokowi, menjadikan produk ini tidak hanya sehat tetapi juga ekonomis bagi masyarakat.
"Ini sudah dicoba oleh beberapa chef dan mereka menyampaikan, "Pak, minyak makan merah ini beda, lebih enak, dan dicek gizinya lebih baik," ujar Jokowi.
Pabrik dengan kapasitas produksi 10 ton CPO [crude palm oil] per hari ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan sekitar 7 ton minyak makan merah setiap hari. Jokowi pun mengajak masyarakat untuk menggunakan produk dalam negeri ini sebagai langkah mendukung pemasaran dan konsumsi produk yang berkelanjutan.
“Jadi yang hadir di sini, pakai. Saya nanti mau beli mau nyoba juga. Jadi semuanya kalau beli, artinya pemasarannya tidak usah ke mana-mana,” imbuhnya.
Jokowi menekankan, pembukaan pabrik ini juga merupakan bagian dari upaya hilirisasi, yaitu proses peningkatan nilai tambah komoditas melalui pengolahan menjadi produk jadi.
"Jangan jual TBS, jangan jual CPO, kalau bisa jadikan barang-barang jadi seperti ini. Ini bagus sekali," tegas Jokowi.

The inauguration of the first red feed oil factory in Indonesia marks a step forward in the national palm oil industry and empowers farmers while increasing the added value of the palm oil industry.
"We want the added value to be domestic. Therefore, we are building this red edible oil factory for the first time and we hope it can provide good added value for palm oil farmers, especially those who are already in the form of cooperatives. So the price of FFB "[Fresh fruit bunches] don´t go up and down, because here everything is processed into finished goods, namely red edible oil," said Jokowi.
Jokowi explained that Indonesia has 5.3 million hectares of oil palm plantations, of which 40.5 percent or 6.2 million hectares are owned by oil palm farmers. The President believes that the production of red edible oil can increase the competitiveness of domestic palm oil farmers´ products.
"The price of this red cooking oil is cheaper than cooking oil on the market. This means that this product can compete in the market, it can compete and the price is competitive," he said.
Apart from that, said Jokowi, the Vitamin A and Vitamin E content in red edible oil is also maintained. This, according to Jokowi, makes this product not only healthy but also economical for society.
"Several chefs have tried this and they said, "Sir, this red edible oil is different, tastier, and has better nutrition," said Jokowi.
The factory with a production capacity of 10 tons of CPO [crude palm oil] per day is expected to produce around 7 tons of red edible oil every day. Jokowi also invited the public to use domestic products as a step to support sustainable marketing and consumption of products.
“So those present here, use it. I´ll buy it later and want to try it too. "So if everyone buys it, it means they don´t have to go anywhere for marketing," he added.
Jokowi emphasized that opening this factory is also part of downstream efforts, namely the process of increasing the added value of commodities through processing them into finished products.
"Don´t sell FFB, don´t sell CPO, if possible, make things like this. This is very good," stressed Jokowi.
