"Perlu stimulus, PDIP mengusulkan program padat karya ketimbang memberi BLSM.
Jakarta (B2B) - Four political parties expressly rejected outright while public assistance (BLSM) as compensation from the subsidized fuel price hike. They accused BLSM as a political issue to tackle poverty and social conflict prone.
The fourth political party that refuses: PDI-P party, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the People´s Conscience Party (Hanura) and the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra).
"The government should try to curb inflation in the transport sector, follow steps cope the smuggling of subsidized fuel and fuel efficiency," said a spokesman for Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) Fary Djemy Francis at a meeting with House Budget Board in Jakarta, Saturday (15/6) .
While Hanura faction spokesman Rudi Tampubolon expressed stance to reject the fuel price hike. He argued, rising fuel prices will push down the economic growth and trigger inflation. The government should improve the management of public finances and increasing foreign investment, and instead chose a shortcut to raise fuel prices.
"If the price of subsidized fuel rises, inflation up seven percent and increase of poor people, because of declining buying power. We asked the government to manage state finances by increasing productivity and revenue optimization with multiply investments," said Rudi Tampubolon.
PKS faction spokesman, Yudi Yudiana assess the fuel price hike decision is not in accordance with the conditions of the global economy especially inflation set in the 2013 Budget Amendment is too high.
"PKS see a rise in fuel prices is not proper, because the government has never cut subsidies and inflation is also very large. Better not hike fuel prices," said Yudi.
PDI-P through a spokesman Sayed Muhammad accused the fuel subsidy measures is the responsibility of the government to its people.
"Need to a stimulus, PDIP proposes intensive program rather than giving BLSM. We also believe Budget Amendment 2013 was sufficient to give subsidies, the next step we submit to the plenary session of the Parliament," said Sayed.
