Jakarta (B2B) - Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) mengatakan pelaksanaan kampanye Pemilihan Legislatif yang sudah mulai sejak pertenghan Maret tidak terlalu signifikan memicu inflasi yang mencapai 0,08% pada periode Maret 2014.
"Kampanye Pileg sudah berlangsung sejak 16 Maret 2014, namun yang kami pantau dampaknya tidak terlalu besar mempengaruhi kenaikan harga barang-barang dan jasa," kata Kepala BPS Suryamin, di Jakarta, Selasa.
Menurut Suryamin, kampanye secara serentak di seluruh wilayah Indonesia yang berlangsung lancar juga menyebabkan pasokan dan permintaan barang dan jasa tidak ada hambatan.
Pada periode Maret 2014, BPS mencatat inflasi sebesar 0,08%, lebih rendah dibanding inflasi periode Februari 2014 sebesar 0,26%.
Inflasi pada Maret 2014, lebih karena kenaikan harga makanan jadi, minuman dan tarif angkutan udara.
"Inflasi lebih dipengaruhi iklim di sejumlah wilayah seperti gunung meletus dan kabut asap yang mengakibatkan aktivitas masyarakat terganggu. Sedangkan kampanye sama sekali pengaruhnya hampir tidak ada," ujarnya.
Ia mengaku, seperti biasanya selama kampanye kebutuhan makan dan minum peserta kampanye selama menjalankan aktivitas sudah dipasok dari para calon legislatif.
"Umumnya grastisan, mulai dari makanan, minumuman bahkan bahan bakar peserta kampanye sudah disediakan para calon yang mau maju," ujarnya.
Suryamin menambahkan, secara keseluruhan selama inflasi cukup terkendali pada level yang rendah yaitu 0,08%.
BPS mencatat, beberapa komoditas yang mengalami kenaikan harga pada Maret 2014 antara lain, beras, cabe rawit, tarif angkutan udara, bawang putih, minyak goreng, rokok kretek filter, susu untuk balita, bayam, mie, rokok kretek, rokok putih, dan mobil.
Dari 82 kota Indeks Harga Konsumen (IHK), tercatat sebanyak 45 kota mengalami inflasi, dengan inflasi tertinggi terjadi di Merauke sebesar 1,15%, sedangkan inflasi terendah di Kediri dan Makassar masing-masing 0,02%.
"Inflasi tinggi di Merauke, karena kenaikan harga bahan makanan, bahan bangunan, termasuk tarif angkutan udara dan transportasi lainnya," ujarnya.
Sementara, dari 37 kota IHK yang mengalami deflasi, BPS mencatat deflasi tertinggi terjadi di Tual yaitu minus 2,34%.

In the March 2014 period, the BPS recorded 0.08 percent inflation lower than the inflation in February which was 0.26 percent.
He pointed out that inflation in March was due to the increase in the prices of processed food, drink and transportation fares.
"Inflation is more influenced by climate in a number of regions like mountains eruptions and haze, which disturbed peoples activities. Campaigns almost have no influence," the BPS chairman asserted.
During the campaign, drink and food for supporters have been supplied by legislative candidates. "They are generally free of charge; no matter what kind of stuff such as food, drink and even fuels, they have been made available by the candidates," he noted.
According to the BPS, commodities whose price increased in March included rice, chili, instant noodles, air transport fares, garlic, cooking oil, filter clove-flavored cigarettes, milk for infants and cars.
Of the 82 consumer price index (IHK) cities, 45 cities experienced inflation with the highest rate of 1.15 percent in Marauke and the lowest ones in Kediri and Makassar, 0.02 percent respectively.
