Jakarta (B2B) - Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha (KPPU) memastikan memanggil 11 importir hortikultura, Jumat (22/3). KPPU akan meminta keterangan para importir kenapa tidak mengeluarkan bawang impor di Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, Jawa Timur, sehingga pasokan di pasar menjadi langka dan harga bawang pun melonjak.

"KPPU akan meminta keterangan kenapa para importir tidak mengeluarkan barangnya, padahal sudah clear di Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak," kata Komisioner KPPU Munrokhim Misanam di Jakarta, Kamis (21/3).

Menurutnya, akibat kontainer berisi komoditas bawang tidak dikeluarkan mendorong pasokan bawang menipis dan harga melonjak. KPPU mengindikasikan upaya kartel bawang oleh importir hortikultura.

"Perlu diawasi betul, karena timpang sedikit saja harga bisa naik-turun," katanya.

Menurut Munrokhim, permainan kartel menyebabkan harga sulit diprediksi karena pasokan menjadi elastis. Ketika terjadi kelangkaan pasokan, importir dan pedagang besar sengaja menahan untuk menaikkan harga. Namun, ketika harga mulai turun, importir melepas seluruh stok yang dimiliki.
