"Terima kasih atas undangannya.
Jakarta (B2B) - Ex-vice presidential candidate of Indonesia, Hatta Rajasa expressed willingness to attend the presidential inauguration ceremony of Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla on October 20 at the Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) building.
"If I get an invitation, I will come," Hatta stated, adding that he had instructed all the elected members belonging to the Peoples Mandate Party in the House of Representatives (DPR) to attend the inauguration.
According to Hatta, the inauguration of the new president and vice president was an important national political agenda that must be supported.
"Every change in national leadership must be conducted smoothly, wisely, and respectably. This has to become a tradition that should be followed in Indonesia," Hatta emphasized.
Hatta revealed that he was unaware whether his running mate Prabowo Subianto will also attend the presidential inauguration.
"I do not know whether he will come or not because everybody has the right to come or not to come," stated Hatta.
Indonesia recently held its presidential election on July 9 with two pairs of presidential candidates: Prabowo Subianto with his running mate, Hatta Rajasa, and Joko Widodo with his vice presidential candidate, Jusuf Kalla.
On July 22, the General Elections Commission (KPU) announced Joko Widodo, or popularly known as Jokowi, and Jusuf Kalla as the winners of the 2014 presidential election.
However, presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto vociferously expressed his refusal to the presidential election result stating massive electoral frauds during the election day. He then filed a plea in the Constitutional Court (MK). After several hearing sessions, the MK rejected the entire plea put forth by Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa on the dispute of presidential election results.
